The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wagoneer. The contact stated that after driving over a train track, several messages were displayed on the instrument panel. The steering and brakes warning lights were illuminated. While driving at undisclosed speeds, the warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle shut off unexpectedly. The vehicle was restarted and driven to the residence; however, the failure reoccurred. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
On June 18, 2026, I was driving my 2024 Grand Wagoneer on a busy city road. As I approached a busy intersection, I stopped at the red light. When I attempted to move forward when the light turned green, it moved a few feet (putting us in the middle of the intersection), the vehicle seized and became immobile. Almost every light on the dashboard lit up. Several messages flashed back and forth on the screen including "Service transmission" and then "service electronic stability control". I immediately tried to use the SOS function, and when they answered, they were unable to hear me. A person in a truck behind me told me to put my vehicle in Neutral so that the vehicle could move out of the road as it was blocking traffic. When I tried to turn the gear dial, it turned, but the P light stayed on and the vehicle would not go into Neutral. I checked the parking brake and it was not on, nor would it engage. The vehicle being stalled, with zero ability to move put my children and I in danger as there was not a safe place to even exit the vehicle as traffic was completely surrounding us. I tried to turn off the vehicle, but the vehicle stayed in the "run" function even after being pressed. Emergency services was my only next choice. One more push of the off button and the vehicle finally turned off. I waited for 2 minutes and tried to turn the vehicle on again. It did turn on, showing the check engine light. I then was able to put the car into gear, and it moved. I moved the vehicle out of traffic to the next available parking lot. I immediately contacted the dealership and told them I would be having the vehicle towed there for inspection and I do not feel comfortable driving this vehicle again. Unfortunately, this is the 3rd time my car has put me in a dangerous situation in the middle of an intersection, the other 2 being false crash alerts (turning left in turning lane and car thought I was going into oncoming traffic).
The following are issues; -Adas disables mid drive (no warning lights) at highway speeds -steering angle sensors shows not calibrated in live data feed of bscm -air ride stuck in aero mode -select terrain drive modes not functioning as intended -loses all power engine dies at stoplight and eps warning light on -
The second-row passenger side seat release button is non-functional. Third-row passengers cannot exit without this button — it is inoperable, and they cannot reach the manual lever due to insufficient space. Third-row passengers are physically trapped and cannot self-evacuate without outside assistance. In an emergency — collision, fire, or submersion — third-row passengers would have no ability to escape. This defect was first reported December 2, 2024, documented as unable to duplicate, and the vehicle returned without repair. Reported again January 14, 2026. Vehicle has been continuously at an authorized Jeep dealership since January 20, 2026 — 133+ consecutive days unresolved — due to repeated manufacturer parts delays with no confirmed resolution date. Additionally, a recurring key fob and door lock malfunction was reported across four separate visits spanning October 2024 through August 2025. Two open federal safety recalls — 77C (door trim detachment) and 88C (quarter window trim detachment) — show as incomplete in NHTSA's database despite being documented as completed by the dealership on January 20, 2026. Door trim was previously repaired October 29, 2024, suggesting a recurring defect. Defect confirmed by authorized dealership on multiple repair orders. Manufacturer retention team has open escalation case with no resolution. Component available for inspection — vehicle remains at dealership.
Both battery continue to drain. The dealer has replace the batteries five times. My car has been at the dealer repeatedly. Most recent incident the vehicle has been with the dealer since April 10, 2026. As of today June 1, 2026 it still remains at the dealer. They have not been able to tell the cause of the drain. It also my understanding there us another grand wagoneer at the dealer with the same issue.
Car engine completely shuts down at highway speeds sudden loss of throttle/power at highway speed * RPM surging or erratic behavior * dashboard/light flickering * vehicle entering limp mode or shutting down * no-start condition afterward * then the vehicle “magically” works again later * dealership unable to reproduce it * sometimes no stored codes
This issue has happened three times. I am on the highway going 70mph, the RPMs fluctuate, the headlights go out and then I lose propulsion/unable to maintain or increase speed. This is a safety concern as it has happened 3 times on the highway with no warning and limited time to pull over to safety. The dealership is unable to replicate the problem or diagnose an issue.
Incident: Frontal collision with a boulder at 30 MPH. 1. Component/System failure & Inspection Availability The primary failure was the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS); the driver’s frontal airbag failed to deploy during a high-energy frontal impact. Additionally, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)—specifically Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW)—failed to provide alerts or initiate emergency braking prior to impact. 2. Safety Risk The failure created a life-threatening risk. Striking a boulder at 30 MPH caused substantial structural damage, requiring total replacement of the front-right and rear-right suspension assemblies. Despite the severity of the impact, the airbag remained dormant. The lack of FCW/LDW intervention meant zero mitigation was provided to prevent the roadway departure or collision, rendering primary safety features non-functional. 3. Confirmation of Problem The fact that the airbags did not deploy was confirmed by independent inspection following the collision. Assessment of the vehicle damage shows that impact forces were clearly sufficient to trigger the SRS, yet the system failed to activate. While ADAS failure is a dynamic event, the total absence of system logs or alerts during the crash sequence confirms the electronic malfunction. 4. Inspections Performed The vehicle was inspected by an insurance adjuster and collision repair professionals. These inspections documented that the impact was severe enough to cause significant mechanical failure, yet no airbag deployment occurred. The manufacturer (Stellantis/Jeep) has not yet performed a formal data download (EDR) or physical inspection. 5. Warning Lamps & Prior Symptoms No warning lamps, SRS/Airbag indicator lights, or "Service" messages appeared prior to the failure. The diagnostic interface indicated all systems were "Normal," pointing to a catastrophic "silent failure" of the sensors or the Steering Column Control Module.
Rear sunroof glass imploded spontaneously and shattered while driving
Transmission and fuel injector malfunction: Vehicle shutters upon acceleration. Particularly noticeable driving up hill or when maintaining speeds. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Jeep acknowledges the issue, noted a malfunction with PICO data and a fuel injector repair was done under warranty. Stellantis deems the shuttering "acceptable." Safety is at risk as there is a hesitation and inconsistency in the transmission while driving. Yes the problem has been reproduced by 2 dealers, a Stellantis Starcase was opened and Stellantis has a SOL published for service centers but is refusing to release the fine print of the SOL to the consumer. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer despite 3 open cases requesting that a Stellantis Master Technician review the issue. Yes there were several warning lights including "Service Transmission" and "Check Engine" that began appearing at 6000 miles. The issue persists today at 14k miles.
Vehicle was driven for 5 minutes before alerting that it was overheating. While attempting to pull into a safe location off of a main road, the vehicle would not allow me to accelerate. This left our family stranded in the turn lane. I was unable to restart the engine or shift into drive.
The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle unintendedly shut off. The vehicle failed to immediately restart. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle operated normally for a short while before erroneously shutting off a second time. The contact stated that during the failure, another vehicle almost crashed into the rear of the vehicle, and the vehicle failed to immediately restart. Additionally, while operating the vehicle, the instrument cluster malfunctioned and started pixelating, making the screen unreadable. During the failure, the contact was unable to view the safety information, and the lane departure feature was inoperable. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer. The cause of the failures was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 35,000. The VIN was not available.
The thermostat failed causing the vehicle to go into a reduced power mode while climbing a hill with a trailer. The dealer has a technical service bulletin for this issue but the overheating can call engine damage or an accident when the vehicle has reduced power. There were no warnings on the cluster until the car was already in a protection mode and power had been reduced. The cluster coolant temperature gauge is slow to respond and not accurate.

This situation is similar to the recent Palisade SUV recall: The seat folding system operates when the button is pressed, even if the seat is occupied. The system does not detect the presence of a seated passenger and allows the seat to fold in both 2nd and 3rd rows. The system lacks sufficient anti-pinch protection. The motor does not stop when encountering resistance, such as a person, child, or pet, and continues folding despite obstruction. I am in the process of making the complaint with the Jeep Customer Support which directed me to Jeep local dealership to do the investigation. The inspection is not performed yet.
2024 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L Obsidian. Water intrudes into the left headlight assembly through a defective seal, destroying the LED driver module (OEM part #68590086AD) and burning the internal wiring harness connector. This has caused: (1) complete headlight failure while driving in winter conditions with passengers; (2) sudden loss of engine power while in operation; (3) battery failure with standing water found under the battery on the left side; (4) Uconnect/radio/antenna/telematics failure (case open since 30,000 miles, unresolved). All failures traced to the same left-side water ingress point. Jeep Case #94993514 and Wagoneer Connect Case #94079691 both open and unresolved for 18+ months. Vehicle used for licensed medical patient transportation. Multiple roadside assistance calls. Total losses approximately $10,000.
On multiple occasions my vehicle has not recognized the key fob when I have been at the vehicle. I have actually been standing by it trying to open the door and it would not respond. Even if I was holding the key fob in my hand next to the door it would not respond. I would have to manually push the unlock button on the fob to be able to enter. This has caused me personal safety concerns when in unfavorable situations and I could not immediately gain access to the interior of my vehicle. The memor seat and easy exit functions have repeatedly failed to operate as they should causing me to be out of position when driving requiring manual resetting of the position. The heads up display consistently shows the incorrect speed limit. Google Maps and Carplay intermittently become disconnected while I am driving creating a safety hazard when I am using Google Maps guidance. The date below is simply the most recent time these happened. Again, these have happened repeatedly over the period of ownership.
Late last year I reported that while towing a trailer, the dash indicated that the trailer had disconnected from the trailer as looking back I noticed the lights were off when the vehicle lights were on. Before I could pull over to check the connection, the lights turned back on and the warning light extinguished. This happened 3 times when towing the trailer that day. The dealership "reprogrammed" the module and said it was good. But after the latest recall for the Wagoneer, having it recalled, I wanted to notify someone about the potential for expanding the vehicles included in the recall.
While driving, my vehicle has intermittently lost power without warning, creating a serious safety hazard. The loss of power occurs unexpectedly while the vehicle is in motion and is not associated with any driver input, weather, or road conditions. The issue has occurred on more than one occasion. The first occasion in March 2025. The issue appeared to be temporarily resolved but later recurred, indicating the underlying problem was not corrected. When the loss of power occurs, the vehicle does not respond to acceleration input and behaves as though propulsion is cut off completely. This happens suddenly and without warning while driving. This condition creates a dangerous situation, particularly when driving in traffic or at speed as was the case on 12/4/25 when driving 70 mph on the freeway, the second time the issue occurred for us. The car was immediately brought to the dealership on 12/4/2025 and remains there today. On the first occurrence the dealership attributed it to low battery charge and replaced both batteries. The dealership has performed inspections and diagnostics including:Battery testing and replacement,Wiring and harness inspections,Software updates to vehicle control modules,Extended road testing.Despite these efforts:The issue has not been permanently resolved,The dealership has stated the concern could not be duplicated,The dealership has indicated that fault codes were not always present. A STAR case has been opened, Jeep Customer Care has been contacted regarding this issue, and a field technician has been requested to come to the dealership to assess the vehicle. Despite repeated service visits I am submitting this complaint to report a recurring, intermittent loss-of-power condition that may not consistently trigger diagnostic fault codes but poses a serious safety risk for the car occupants and other drivers on the road surrounding this vehicle.
Commands to open or close tailgate do not work. E.g. driver assumes is tailgate has closed but self-reopens and in one case dogs were ejected from moving vehicle. a Vehicle could not be repaired by Jeep dealership.
