My 2024 Jeep Wagoneer L experienced automatic stop/start restart failures during summer 2026 travel. During one incident, we were stopped in traffic while exiting the [XXX]. The engine shut off during the automatic stop/start cycle but did not restart as expected. We had difficulty restarting it, leaving us unable to move in traffic until it eventually restarted. I was concerned about being struck or stranded in a congested tunnel exit area. Two batteries were replaced during the trip, one during service in [XXX] and another following the [XXX] incident. Mopar records list service at Jones Chrysler Jeep Dodge on XXX, at 22,409 miles, including a battery-related entry, and Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Englewood Cliffs on XXX, at 22,814 miles, including electrical-system service. These are service dates; the exact incident dates may differ. I do not yet have the detailed repair orders identifying which battery was replaced at each visit or the diagnostic findings. The dealership subsequently advised us to disable automatic stop/start. We have done so and have not experienced another shutdown with it disabled. However, the vehicle continues to jerk or buck intermittently around 20–25 mph while holding a steady speed and sometimes during gentle acceleration after leaving the driveway. Lane assistance had also become unavailable before the summer restart problems began, and it became unavailable again on XXX. I do not know whether these issues share a cause. I am reporting the restart failures and continuing symptoms because of concern about another incident in traffic. Disabling stop/start has avoided further shutdowns so far, but I have not received confirmation that the underlying cause has been corrected. More than ten times in approximately the past week, the car has unintended engine shutdown/loss of motive power while parked or while driving, with and without the Automatic Hybrid Electric Stop / Start button activated. Last occurrence the vehicle failed to restart or have any indication of power for 30-45 minutes.
2nd row seat tilt buttons on both sides does not latch or release. When the kids are sitting in the seats there is an error on the drivers screen that states seat is not latched. I am concered the seat is not secured safely.
While crossing an intersection, at low speeds (<5mph) the wagoneer immediately switched to park due to a failing auto park safety system. It left us stranded in the middle of the road while the car required two shut offs and restarts, all while watching cars drive by us. This has occurred twice in intersections, twice at stop signs, and three times pulling out of our driveway in the past three months.
Suspension geometry is wrong causing rapid tire wear and heat. Dealership says it’s normal wear for this car with air ride suspension and engine power. I’ve had the alignment checked multiple times and told it is correct. This is causing excessive wear of the tires and causes a bad vibration like a tire belt is broken. I have researched the internet and found that there has been several complaints of this issue with Wagoneers with air ride suspension. I purchased this car brand new and this wasn’t disclosed that this vehicle will need new tires every 20,000 miles. I believe this to be a safety issue with the high wear and extreme heat is setting up a tire failure or explosion and or separation of tire while driving and could cause a wreak and possible death depending on the accident.
I am reporting a serious safety concern with my 2024 Jeep Wagoneer. For approximately six months, I have repeatedly taken the vehicle to an authorized Viva Jeep dealership in [XXX], because of transmission and acceleration concerns. The dealership has attempted to diagnose the issue, including keeping my vehicle for approximately one month, but the problem has not been resolved. On XXX, while driving, the vehicle unexpectedly accelerated without my intention or command and reached approximately 90 mph. I was able to regain control and safely stop the vehicle. The following day, I experienced additional abnormal behavior. When pressing the accelerator, the RPM and shifting did not respond normally, and the vehicle appeared to remain in an incorrect gear. I have repeatedly reported concerns about the transmission/powertrain for months, but the problem continues and has now escalated into a serious safety concern. I do not feel safe operating this vehicle. I am requesting that NHTSA document and review this incident as a potential vehicle safety defect involving unintended acceleration and transmission/powertrain malfunction.
