No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was able to be restarted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but no trouble code was retrieved. The mechanic related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 08V528000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
The contact owns a 2009 Chrysler Sebring. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel pump was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 09V047000 (Fuel System, Other). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 80,000.

WHILE DRIVE THE CAR LOSES POWER AND WILL STALL AT RANDOM TIMES CAUSE THE CAR TO SHUT OFF, WILL RESTART RIGHT AWAY AND DRIVE FINE AGAIN CAN NOT IDLE FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME LIKE AT A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN CAUSE WHEN YOU ACCELERATE YOU WILL HAVE NO POWER AND HAVE TO TRY TO GET TO SIDE OF THE ROAD SO YOU DON'T GET HIT, TOOK TO MECHANIC SAID PCM PROBLEM THAT IT NEEDED A NEW PCM, LOOKED UP PCM PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR YEAR AND MAKE AND MODEL AND THERE IS A RECALL BUT WHEN I PUT MY VIN IN IT'S NOT ONE OF THEM BUT MY CAR IS DOING EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED FOR THE RECALL ON THE 2009 CHRYSLER SEBRING PCM RECALL NOT SURE WHY MINE IS NOT INCLUDED! THE GUY THAT OWNED THE VEHICLE HAD THIS SAME EXACT PROBLEM AND THE CAR HAD BEEN PARK SINCE 2014 ONLY DRIVEN IF IT WAS AN EMERGENCY CAUSE OF SAFETY CONCERNS AS THE CAR WILL STALL ON A HIGHWAY GOING 60MPH
THE LIGHTS WENT OUT ALOT AND I WOULD GIGGLE THE WIRE TO GET THEM TO FULLY TURN ON. THEN THAT STOPPED WORKING. WE HAVE TRIED DIFFERENT ROUTES OF TRYING TO GET THEM TO WORK BUT NOTHING WILL. IT CAN ONLY BE DRIVEN DURING THE DAY NOW.

THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND REMAINED WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED UNTIL THE TOW TRUCK ARRIVED TO TOW THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC BUT NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED OR NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
AIRBAGS LIGHT CAME ON OUTTA NOWHERE, VEHICLE HASN'T BEEN IN A ACCIDENT EITHER. TURNS ON WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION.

THE CONTACT CALLED LEE AUTO MALL AT 207-784-5441 (LOCATED AT 765 CENTER ST, AUBURN, ME 04210) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED IMMEDIATELY. THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL REPAIR SHOP TO BE CHECKED THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING AND RESET THE LIGHT. A FEW DAYS LATER THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND THE CAR STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIWAY. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT BACK TO THE REPAIR SHOP WHERE THEY ARE WORKING TO FIND THE ISSUE AT THIS TIME. THEY HAVE CHANGED THE SPARK PLUGS AND A SENSOR BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT THE READER SAID TO DO BUT THE CAR IS STILL DYING AND HAS REDUCED SPEED.

THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE MALFUNCTIONED, WHICH CAUSED THE BATTERY TO DRAIN EXCESSIVELY. THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED FOUR TIMES. THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED DUE TO THE PART BEING ON NATIONAL BACKORDER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. NOISE IN FRONT END. RACK AND PINION STEERING. BEEN HEARING THIS FOR A FEW YEARS. FINALLY HAVE A MECHANIC WHO CAN FIX IT. MORE LOUD AS IT DRIVES. CAN FEEL A THUMP AND KNOCKING NOISE. THOUGHT IT WAS TIRE RODS.

THE 2009 CHRYSLER SEBRING HORN STARTS TO BLOW AT ALL HOURS AND I HAVE TO GO OUT AND HIT THE HORN PAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL. I HAD IT GO OFF IN TRAFFIC AND ALMOST HAD A GUY IN A ROAD RAGE SITUATION UNTIL I TOLD HIM WHAT HAPPENS TO THE HORN. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR SAFETY FOR SURE. I SEE WHERE THERE ARE MANY MORE COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET.
