Engine Failure where a replacement engine is required just after a few months of purchasing the vehicle.
Coolant intrusion. This particular motor has caused NUMEROUS issues with 2019 & older Ford models, specifically with the 2.3L Ecoboost engines. The Ford Motor Company should recall & replace the engines of all models affected, mine included. I spent $2200 for a new timing system, tow fees, was broke down on the side of the road when my engine overheated. I bought this car brand new. Financed $27k & owe $3900 right now. Devastated & livid describes how I feel at the present. Coolant intrusion causing hydrolock is a KNOWN issue by Ford, and they should make things right with the owners of the vehicles affected. A new motor will cost $6500. That should NOT be a cost that the customer has to pay.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the front driver's side door suddenly unlocked and became slightly ajar. The contact immediately opened and closed the door, and then securely locked the door. The contact became aware of information related to the locking mechanism; however, the contact was unable to locate the information. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000.
Left for work. Started running funny, stalled-started-stalled-started on my street. Got on highway about 1/2 mile, check engine light & engine temp light came on. Got off highway and called a tow to SARASOTA FORD. Tech ran diag. for codes, codes found.: P1285( cylinder head over temp ), P0316(engine misfire ), P0304( cylinder 4 misfire ), P0303(cylinder 3 misfire ), P0302( cylinder 2 misfire ), P217( engine coolant over temp ),.. Tech removed spark plugs and saw coolant in cylinder's ( 2,3,4 ) with a bore scope. Ongoing problem I found out about after the fact with the ( 2015-2019, 2.3L EcoBoost .. "ECO-BOOM" motor ). Specifically between cylinder's 2 & 3... Was quoted a repair cost of over $10,000.00 -12,000.00 dollars. It's been next to my house for almost a year now. Bought the car used in JANUARY 2021 with my son with no explanation of the known problem. If known I would not have bought the car, 2019/FORD/MUSTANG/2DR CPE ECOBOOST FASTBACK. Diagnostics were done on 06/04/2025 at ... Incident happened around 05/30-31/2025, That's about all I got

Rebuilt transmissions are bad. Two in the last four weeks have been placed in my 2019 California Special Edition Mustang, and both are bad. They both came from the Ford manufacturer. The transmission locks up at any point while driving at any speed, causing the car to jerk to a standstill, and only while you are driving. We were on 465, and the car automatically stopped in the middle of the highway while other vehicles were flying by and behind me. We were almost hit by several vehicles. This also occurred while the mechanic test drove the car with the second rebuilt transmission placed in my car. No warnings, nothing before this occurred. This is a huge safety hazard and risk for many. The dealership is aware and advised me to contact Ford Motor Company and not to drive my car until something can be done. I have contacted Ford Motor Company, and they have yet to do anything or reach back out to me regarding this safety issue. The car is available for inspection at any time needed since it is still sitting at the dealership with the second rebuilt transmission in it that is no good.
My 2019 Ford Mustang Ecoboost Premium Fastback is having an issue with the transmission. When I shift from park to reverse or from reverse to drive, the car makes a clunking noise. There are times when i do a doubletake in my rear view mirror to see if someone has hit me in the back, this happens sometimes when i shift into reverse. Also, I have to stay back at least a car length behind vehicles as the car will sometimes lunges forward which can cause an accident. Will be taking my vehicle into service for this problem.

The car is using a lot of engine coolant and oil. It is also burning the spark plugs. The check engine light comes out 6k miles after I install new spark plugs and it starts shaking, misfiring, running poorly, not accelerating properly and blowing white smoke through the exhaust on cold start. I know the engines have a defect from factory that causes them to do this. It usually needs a new head gasket, block or engine. Please advise. I read a forum that referred me to this website. The car is well taken care of and has 115k miles.

The vehicle exhibited symptoms including coolant loss without visible external leaks, rough operation, and engine malfunction. Upon inspection by a Ford dealership, the failure was diagnosed as coolant intrusion into the engine, with the only repair option being long‑block (engine) replacement. Ford has acknowledged this failure mode in Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 19‑2346, which documents coolant intrusion in EcoBoost engines and states that engine replacement—not head gasket repair—is the required corrective action. This bulletin confirms the issue is caused by an internal design flaw that develops over time. Why This Is a Safety Concern: This defect can lead to sudden engine misfires, loss of power, or complete engine failure while driving, which poses a serious safety risk to vehicle occupants and other road users. Engine failure at highway speeds or during normal driving conditions creates the potential for crashes, loss of vehicle control, or roadside breakdowns in unsafe conditions. The failure occurred at very low mileage (36,000 miles), indicating a premature and abnormal engine defect, not normal wear and tear. Yes, it is available for inspection upon request. Yes, it is diagnostic and confirmed by AutoNation Ford Bellevue [XXX] Direct line: [XXX] No, prior warning and symptoms. First appeared on March 16, 2026. No recall exists despite Ford’s TSBs acknowledging the defect. Ford later redesigned the EcoBoost engine, showing awareness of the issue, yet owners are forced to pay for costly engine replacements after warranty expiration. The rear backup camera on my 2019 Ford Mustang intermittently stops working. At times the screen shows a blue screen or displays a “backup camera not available” message. The issue comes and goes without warning. This creates a safety concern when reversing, as visibility is reduced and the camera cannot be relied upon. The problem appears to be electrical and is not consistently functioning.
Refused to fix the issue because the OBD reader did not provide any codes OBD reader is not sending any signals, but there is power I called Sam’s Ford to send a service to fix the recall but told me they will not fix the issues because no codes were being provided And the check engine light is active
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that the passenger’s and driver’s side door latches unlocked while driving approximately 70 - 75 MPH, and the doors became slightly opened. The contact grabbed the interior handle and closed the door. The contact had received information related to the door lock failures. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the vehicle could not be repaired under recall because an undisclosed campaign had expired in November 2025. The component that failed on my ecoboost mustang 2019 was a failed design in the motor called the head gasket. The head gaskets broke and started leaking coolant into the engine. The engine has 39,000 miles
While driving at normal road speed, the vehicle suddenly displayed multiple warnings at the same time indicating that AdvanceTrac (electronic stability control), traction control, and ABS were disabled, and the vehicle entered a reduced functionality state. These warnings appeared simultaneously without any hard braking, loss of traction, or driver input at the time. The warnings and system faults then cleared in a cascading manner over a short distance, with each system returning one after another while continuing to drive, without shutting off the engine. After approximately a few thousand feet, all warning messages disappeared and the systems appeared to return to normal operation on their own. This has occurred more than once since ownership. The first occurrence happened at approximately 50 mph. The second occurrence happened at approximately 20 mph and occurred only seconds before an emergency braking event in the rain to avoid a collision. At the time the warnings appeared, the vehicle had temporarily lost ABS, stability control, traction control, and related braking assistance systems, creating a serious safety risk during an actual emergency maneuver. After the events, an OBD-II scan was performed and no stored fault codes or diagnostic trouble codes were present. However, for the next several engine on/off cycles, the steering and traction control behavior felt abnormal, as if the systems were only partially engaged, even though no warning lights or messages were displayed. No permanent warning lights remained illuminated afterward. The problem is intermittent and difficult to reproduce. No collision occurred, no repairs have yet been performed, and the cause is currently unknown
Have a 2019 Ford Mustang 2DR 2.3L Ecoboost with 59,500 miles which I took to the dealership with a code P0302 and P0304 present, cylinder misfire, observed coolant level low, performed borescope in cylinder 2 and 4, found coolant intrusion, recommend long block engine replacement which would have cost me $10,728.85. Concern is that the engine can stall suddenly and may cause an accident. Ford Motor Company knows about these kind of engine issues with Ecoboost engines and have not offer any reasonable solutions. Blown Head Gasket @ 86,000 miles due to Block defect. Now I have to either pay to replace the Head Gasket with the expectation that it will fail again due to the block defect, or replace the whole defective block.
When placing the car in reverse the backup works sometimes and most times it does not. Similar to other Ford vehicles currently under recall. I am of the belief this recall should be expanded to include additional years and models.
Purchased just 2 months ago from ford dealer, after 1 week noticed shimming of engine on cold start, next incident overheat warning, filled with radiator fluid, noticed slow lowering of fluid level, next day car would not start at all. Towed to mechanic in which they report blown head gasket and all 4 cylinders damaged. After searching this site I found others had same complaint but no recalls. Evidently there is a lawsuit, how do I participate so I can get my beautiful car repaired ASAP?
