Driving in a snow storm and slid in to a rail ,no damage but the back light,airbag deployed,. My regular headlights on the driver side went out three years ago , neighbor got it to work ,now both headlights are not working.
Drivers side low beam failure (2000 pathfinder and 2006 titan also same issue) Replaced bulbs twice in one year now low beam headlight doesn’t work at all always the driver side
My issues are related to the SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN 1997-2003 QX4 IN SALT STATES FRONT STRUT HOUSING CORROSION. I brought my car in for the recall at Infiniti of Bloomington, Minnesota and they only fixed the Driver’s side strut housing using a brace but only painted the Passenger’s side. Now the Passenger’s side strut housing shows corrosion and some perforation but repairable still under the recall. As of today 01/23/2023 The dealer and Infiniti refused to do recall on passenger’s side despite the car is not safe to drive. They knowingly know the passenger’s side will corrode but still let me drive the car with the defective which they refuse to fix.
I HAVE TRIED TO GET PASSENGER AIRBAG RECALL (AND A CONFIRMED DRIVER SEATBELT DEFECT) REPLACED AND THE PART WAS NEEDED ONE YEAR AGO AROUND MARCH OR APRIL 2020 AND TODAY WHEN I TRIED TO MAKE A APPOINTMENT 03/29/2021 WAS TOLD THAT IT IS A 3 TO 4 HOUR JOB AND NO LOANER VEHICLE OR TOW IS AVAILABLE FOR THIS TYPE OF SERVICE. THE THE RECALL NOTICE FORM # R1714 30148563 STATES THAT THERE IS FREE CONVENIENCE SERVICES SUCH AS TOW TO AND FROM INFINITI RETAILER OR ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION. MOSSY NISSAN IN OCEANSIDE CALIFORNIA AND I TALKED TO A WOMAN NAMED ROBIN IN SERVICE DEPT. MY QUESTION/COMPLAINT IS WHY IS ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORT OR TOW NOT BEING OFFERED FOR THIS DANGEROUS HAZARDOUS DEFECT? EXTENSIVE RUST AND DECAY IS FOUND ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FRAME WHERE THE LOWER CONTROL ARM CONNECTS. THIS IS JUST BELOW THE STRUT HOUSING AND IS VISIBLE THROUGH THE FRONT WHEEL WELL. I HAVE ATTACHED BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE PHOTOS AS THE DEFECT ONLY APPEARS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE.

AFTER THE CONTACT PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, HE NOTICED RUST FORMING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FRAME RAIL BELOW THE PASSENGER SIDE CONTROL ARM. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED HIM THAT THEY COULD REINFORCE THE FRAME WELL; HOWEVER, A FUEL LINE RAN THROUGH THE RUSTED AREA, WHICH COULD CAUSE MORE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 139,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 INFINITI QX4. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS WITH AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, THE MECHANIC NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE STRUT HOUSING WAS RUSTED AND CRACKED. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC ALERTED HER OF A RECALL FOR THE STRUT HOUSING AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER CONFIRMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V244000 (STEERING, SUSPENSION) AT FIELDS INFINITI GLENCOE (2100 FRONTAGE RD, GLENCOE, IL 60022 (847) 998-5200). THE DEALER STATED THAT A PLATE WAS INSTALLED ON THE STRUT HOUSING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT IT LOOKED LIKE NO REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT BOTH INDEPENDENT MECHANICS INFORMED HER THAT A PLATE NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED IN THE STRUT HOUSING, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. UPON PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, THE CARFAX REPORT FAILED TO IDENTIFY THE REPAIR OR FAILURE TO THE STRUT HOUSING. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 124,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 152,000.

TAKATA RECALL AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY WHEN STATIONERY 2002 INFINITI QX4 STOPPED AT TRAFFIC LIGHT ON CITY STREET WAS HIT IN THE REAR BY ANOTHER VEHICLE WHICH WAS ACCELERATING. PUSHED INFINITI QX4 25 FEET INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 INFINITI QX4. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE CONTACT WITNESSED AN ABNORMAL NOISE EMITTING FROM THE DRIVER SIDE STRUT AREA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE MADE AN ABNORMAL BANGING NOISE WHEN DRIVING OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RACK AND PINION BECAME INOPERABLE AND THE STRUT HOUSING WAS CRACKED. AS A RESULT, BOTH COMPONENTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

THE CAR STOPPED RUNNING AND THERE WAS A STRONG SMELL OF SMOKE, AFTER HAVING THE CAR TOWED TO THE INFINITI DEALER WE WERE INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE THAT CONTROLS THE CAR HAD BURNT OUT. FORTUNATELY, WE WERE ON A LOCAL SIDE STREET. HAD WE BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE CAR JUST SHUT DOWN WE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET OUT OF TRAFFIC. THE REPAIRMAN STATED THE MODULE WAS COMPLETELY BURNED. AFTER PAYING $2235.12, TO REPLACE THIS ITEM SINCE THERE IS NO AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT. *TR

THERE WAS A RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH THE SAME DEFECT UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 11V244000 (STEERING , SUSPENSION) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,000. JS
THE FRAME OF THE CAR IS RUSTED OUT, MAKING THE TRUCK UNSAFE FOR DRIVING. THE RUST IS ALSO NOTICED ON THE RUNNING BOARDS, AND A LARGE PORTION OF THE REAR SUSPENSION SYSTEM. I HAVE HAD THE RECALL FIX APPLIED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, HOWEVER RUST IS SPREADING LIKE WILD FIRE THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE FRAME. *TR
POWER DOORS, LOCKS AND WINDOWS STOPPED WORKING. KEYLESS ENTRY WOULDN'T WORK. DRIVER SIDE DOOR KEPT LOCKING ON ITS OWN AND KEY WOULDN'T UNLOCK IT. BATTERY KEPT DYING.
AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT, I WAS TAKING A LEFT HAND TURN INTO A DRIVEWAY GOING APPROXIMATELY 5-10MPH WHEN I HEARD A "POPPING" SOUND COME FROM THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR AS I WAS TURNING. AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION, THE SOUND WOULD OCCUR WHEN TAKING A RIGHT OR LEFT TURN, EITHER ACCELERATING OR NOT. I FELT INCREDIBLY UNSAFE DRIVING IT. TOOK IT FOR AN INSPECTION AT A TRUSTED MECHANIC ON 7/29/13, HE TEST DROVE IT AND DEEMED IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC THAT HE COULD NOT REPAIR IT BECAUSE IT WAS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE DUE TO A LOT OF CORROSION UNDER THE CAR AND THE WORK NEEDED TO BE DONE BY THE DEALERSHIP. TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 7/30/13, DEALERSHIP WILL NOT FIX IT, SAYS IT IS NOT A MANUFACTURING ISSUE. REWIND TO APRIL 20TH, 2011, QX4 2002 RECALLED IN A NUMBER OF STATES INCLUDING MASSACHUSETTS, ORIGINAL RECALL DATE: 4/20/11 FOR CORROSION PROBLEMS DUE TO ROAD SALT AND SNOW/WATER. THE RECALL ID STATES THE CONSEQUENCES OF THIS CORROSION WILL BE THAT "THE STRUT HOUSING MAY CRACK AND PULL AWAY FROM THE INNER HOOD LEDGE ASSEMBLY. THIS MAY LEAD TO GRINDING NOISES, INCREASED STEERING EFFORT, AND POSSIBLY STEERING COLUMN TO BREAK, RESULTING IN THE LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH." BACK IN THE WINTER OF 2011-2012, TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS PART OF THE RECALL. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE CORROSION PROBLEM WAS FIXED AND THE CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. NOW I HAVE A DEALERSHIP THAT REFUSES RESPONSIBILITY FOR AN OUTSTANDING CORROSION PROBLEM, A CLAIM WITH INFINITI THAT IS GOING NO WHERE AND A CAR I CANNOT DRIVE BECAUSE IT CANNOT BE FIXED. *TR

THE SERVICE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ALSO ILLUMINATED SHORTLY AFTERWARD. THE STEERING WHEEL THEN BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE STEERING FAILED AND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TO BE REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 11V244000 (STEERING:COLUMN ). AS A RESULT OF THE SUSPENSION FAILURE, THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM HAD ALSO FAILED. THE TECHNICIAN WAS AUTHORIZED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE UNDER THE RECALL BUT ONLY FOR THE STEERING FAILURE AND NOT THE ABS SYSTEM FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED PER THE CONTACT'S REQUEST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 89,445. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE THE CAR STARTED TO ACCELERATE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO FULLY STOP WHEN I STEPPED ON THE BRAKES. ONCE THE CAR WAS PUT INTO PARK THE ENGINE REVVED ALL THE WAY UP TO 8. HAD THE ENGINE AND VALVES CLEANED WHICH THEY SAID WAS THE PROBLEM. ON 7/23/2012 THE SAME THING HAPPENED AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING WAS WRONG GOT IT CLEANED BUT THE GAS PEDAL KEEPS STICKING AND THE CAR CONTINUES TO ACCELERATE. *TR
