Unknown... So whenever it gets hot in the summertime lately. My car has an issue starting sometimes it doesn't start and I've taken it in have the mechanic look at it. They can't figure out what's going on with that. They say that it's known issue that they've had and they told me to Bang on the relay inside my vehicle. And sometimes that starts up right away and other times it takes a little bit for my car to start. They could not figure out what was causing it and sometimes all of my lights on my dashboard light up my air bag, ABS, check engine. Those will light up and I think it's something to do with the electrical or the fuel system. I don't know, i've replaced parts on it and I'm still having the issue. I don't know what is going on. I've replaced some fuses and they've blown so that's why I'm thinking it's something to do with the electrical. My mechanic couldn't figure out what it was and he says he has had many kias have the same issue.

The contact owns a 2007 Kia Sedona. The contact stated that he initially received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V088000 (Electrical System, Service Brakes, Hydraulic). A year after the recall repair was performed, while his wife was driving 55 MPH, grayish smoke started coming from under the hood. While she was pulling over, the ABS warning light illuminated the instrument panel due to both front brake calipers locking up. The contact’s wife allowed the vehicle to cool down for a while and was able to restart the vehicle and drive home without further incidence. The contact, who is a mechanic, then drove the vehicle to his dealer for an inspection and discovered that water had entered the EBCM (Electronic Brake Control Module) which caused the module to corrode. The contact also discovered that both fuses in the under-hood fuse block had blown which caused the smoke. Upon replacing the fuses, the same failure recurred with smoke coming from the engine due to the replacement fuses being blown. The contact then spoke with the dealer where the recall was performed and was provided a diagnostic fee to inspect the vehicle. The contact then reached out to the manufacturer where he was provided a case number but had not yet received a follow-up call from the manufacturer. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 135,701.
The sliding doors do not work all of the time I’ve had to climb through the front to the back seat to get my child or pull my child out through the back window. The cigarette lighter/charger port works and then it doesn’t, there are many electrical issues with things functioning properly

THE CAR GETS THIS RANDOM SMELL OF BURNING PLASTIC. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THERES S CRACKLING SOUND THAT COMES FROM THE DASH BOARD. ALSO THE CAR RANDOMLY DOESNT START. THE LIGHTS AND RADIO WILL WORK BUT THE CAR DOES NOTHING WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY THIS SEEMS TO HAPPEN MOSTLY AFTER THE BURNING SMELL. I HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY, FUSES AND RELAY SWITCHES AND NOTHING WORKS. I'VE HAD IT AT THE MECHANIC AND THEY HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO FIND THE CAUSE. IT'S VERY SCARY SMELLING BURNING PLASTIC AND HEARING CRACKLING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I'M STUCK PAYING FOR A CAR I'M TO SCARED TO DRIVE.

MY CAR WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY, NOT RUNNING, NO KEY IN THE IGNITION, AND HAD NOT BEEN DRIVEN SINCE THE PREVIOUS DAY. ONE OF THE KIDS WENT OUTSIDE TO PLAY AND CAME RUNNING BACK IN TO TELL US THE CAR WAS SMOKING. THERE WAS SMOKING COMING OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. MY BOYFRIEND QUICKLY GOT TO IT AND GOT THE BATTERY OUT AND FOUND THE SOURCE AND UNPLUGGED THE ELECTRICAL STABILITY CONTROL MODULE ( I BELIEVE IS WHAT HE CALLED IT) EITHER WAY, THE PLUG AND WIRES WERE FRIED. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT HAD WE NOT SEEN THIS IT WOULD HAVE CAUGHT FIRE. I CALLED THE KIA CORPORATE NUMBER AND THEY TOLD ME SORRY BUT ITS AN OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE, MY CAR IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND THERE ARE NO RECALLS. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST 07 KIA SEDONA TO HAVE THIS ISSUE BASED ON THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE. AND HAD WE BEEN SLEEPING WHEN THIS HAPPENED MY HOUSE COULD HAVE CAUGHT FIRE. HAD THERE BEEN CHILDREN IN THIS AT THE TIME THEY COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED.
