When going over a curb, the passenger rear seat belt disengaged and pulled the forward facing car seat up to the side.

The forward looking sonar sensor turns off after the first 2 miles, which in turn deactivates the adaptive cruise control and the automatic emergency braking system. I have learned that this is a widespread problem on many Nissans, including the Rogue and Murano. The dealership said it was recalled on the Rogue, but not on the Murano, so it would cost thousands to replace.

Technical Incident Report: Electrical Component Failure Reference: Technical Service Bulletin NTB19-004 Part Number: 873D6-5AA6A (Control Unit/Actuator) Incident Overview On 2/16/26, the vehicle was being operated by the primary driver when a suspected electrical failure occurred. Upon subsequent inspection, the 873D6-5AA6A control unit and its associated wiring harness were found to be severely compromised by thermal damage. Detailed Observations: Thermal Damage: The control unit housing showed significant melting. Residual smoke was present during the inspection, indicating a high-temperature event caused by a short circuit or component failure. Harness Integrity: The wiring harness insulation was melted and charred. Due to the extreme heat, the plastic connector had become brittle and lost all structural integrity. Component Failure: During the attempt to disconnect the unit for safety inspection, the connector shattered, leaving the internal wiring of the harness exposed. Documentation: High-resolution photographs have been captured to document the state of the melted housing, the shattered connector, and the exposed wiring.

The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that with the traction control feature deactivated and while driving up the snowy and icy inclined gravel drive way, the traction control light suddenly began to flash off and on, the vehicle stopped accelerating and began to slide backwards and off the gravel driveway, down a 30-foot embankment, rolling over several times and landing on the passenger side. During the incident, the driver sustained a left wrist injury and the front seat passenger sustained bruising of both legs and the right shoulder. No medical treatment was immediately required. The vehicle was later towed away. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The local dealer was not contacted. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V807000(SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 120,000.

Have noticed when turning a corner vehicle has some slight jerking motions before it picks up speed. Vehicle also has a whining/humming sound that it’s making somewhere in the transmission (CVT). I haven’t ever received a recall or CVT extended warranty about this vehicle before but I received this warranty in the mail last week 11-12-25..This warranty would have covered my problems with the vehicle but I was told it expired last year.. Why send it to me this year and it’s useless

My car is stalled when I press on the gas pedal to accelerate. It happens many times and the recent one is yesterday 11/11/2025.

The brake fluid continues to leak the CVT affected therefore the car only drives backwards. It has under 70,000 miles. It completely stopped while driving in the middle of traffic. I had to have it towed. There was no notice of this issue prior to this incident.

MY TRUCK AIR CONDITION STOPPED WORKING. I TOOK IT TO NISSAN AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE WIRE HARNESS HAD GONE BAD. THEY ALSO INFORMED ME THAT THIS COULD CAUSE THE CAR TO CATCH FIRE WHILE DRIVING, STALL AND POSSIBLY THE HEAD LIGHTS DIM WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THR DIM LIGHTS AND STALLING. I FEEL THESE ARE SAFETY ISSUES. IT HAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED BY THE MANUFACTER, POLICE OR INSURANCE. I CURRENTLY HAVE NO CHECK ENGIN LIGHTS ON SO THERE WAS NO WARNING.

Rear lift-gate failed to latch. Paid for assessment and repair in August 2024. I was told it could occur again that there is hatch issue with this vehicle. Eight months later, the rear lift-gate failed to latch again. I took it back to the dealership. While driving, it is unsafe as the warning lights are flashing on the dash and an alarm is screeching for the entirety of the trip. You cannot safely drive a vehicle when the door will not latch. After inspection of the vehicle, they advised to repair the lock assembly($770) though $180 was paid at first assessment . I was told this may not be the final solution to the problem. This time there was no discussion of the hatch issue with this vehicle. Hmmm, there is an online forum for other Nissan owners with the same problem. I never received any warning lamps prior to the issue. The rear lift hatch was working until it wasn't. Thank goodness I was not on a road trip (I have two adult children who live out of state). It is unnerving and unsafe to drive while all of the warning lights and sounds are ON all while your rear door is unable to latch. In my opinion, this is a SAFETY issue. There have been two class action suits on the 2017 Murano. One for foggy headlamps and one for the CVT transmission. I did not join the suits. At the time I was contacted, my headlamps were not foggy, now they are. Knock on wood, I have no issues with my transmission. I can drive safely with foggy headlamps. I can NOT drive safely when my rear door will not latch. There are 3 buttons for this feature (the dash, the rear door, and the glove box). The button in the glove box allows you to turn off the auto lift feature. Even when you turn it off, the door will not latch. In my opinion, there is a faulty design. This should be a RECALL, not a repair. I am long past the days of soccer and basketball tournaments where a rear door gets a workout. It's just me. Having a door close and latch seems fundamental to the safety of a vehicle.

daytime running lights with no taillights. LED daytime running lights are so bright on newer cars that they light the road enough to drive at night without turning the headlights on. the vehicle is completely invisible and black from behind. the dash lights are on all the time so there is no way for the driver to know they are driving at night with the headlights off. this is true with many auto manufacturers, a simple software update could repair most older vehicles on the road today, make the taillights come on with the daytime running lights, that would take care of the safety issue of drivers who forget to manually turn their headlights on at night. the following news cast explains the issue. About 1 month ago my car started dragging going up hills. The RPMs were high but the car wouldn't accelerate. On flat surfaces it would not accelerate faster than 40 mph and smoke was coming out of the exhaust. It would not shift gears or accelerate. Firestone had my car for a week but said it could only be fixed by a Nissan dealership because it had to be flashed. I paid a little over $900 to the dealership for them to tell me they don't know why my car won't shift or accelerate correctly. I asked if it was the CVT and they said they didn't know. They put Blue Devil in my engine which helped stop smoke coming out of the engine but it still doesn't shift and RPMs stay high. My son had to take my car to work and when he got on the highway he tried to accelerate to avoid getting hit, and again, my car wouldn't shift but the RPMs stayed high.

Car power steering rack liking bad, car has 46k miles This car should be recalled, is got major issues with power steering rack, in which Nissan didn’t do it right do to parts shortage, this is dangerous for my kids this car can burn any second, if you telling me that car at 46 k has a major power steering leek I would never buy this car, we took our car into Nissan they do not want to fix this, they asking $2100 to fix for what Nissan did when they build a car, this has to be on recall list for all Nissan 2017, , local Nissan is ignoring this problem, we will sue , this is a dangerous problem to have on the car, it will catch a fire eventually, start resolving this to avoid law suits. Nissan is recalling more than 56,000 cars because of power-steering hoses that may leak fluid and potentially lead to fires. Nissan North America said the recall affects the 2013-2014 Murano vehicles. The problem stems from the power-steering hose clamp, which may not adequately secure the hose. That could allow the hose to detach and leak power-steering fluid, the company said. Power-steering fluid leaking onto a hot engine or exhaust pipes could cause a fire, Nissan said.

This car it was in the garage. I almost never use it only sometimes to go in the store and this cannot happen. The car who passed just 46,000. Steering Rack: Power steering rack and electronic power steering fluid - Power steering is very notchy. Upon inspection of vehicle found power steering rack leaking from the passenger side seal. Recommend replacing rack and bleeding power steering system. The steering wheel is attached to the steering rack by the steering shaft. When the steering wheel is turned, the steering rack interprets the directional input and pushes or pulls the front wheels in the desired direction. The steering rack is secured to the chassis.

We had an accident on January 4. We were rear ended and pushed it to the vehicle in front of us. The truck that hit us was going about 65 miles an hour. Our vehicle is totaled. No air bags deployed and my seat did not engage.

The seat heating function on my vehicle failed due to electrical components becoming so hot that they melted the control module connector. The issue has been reviewed and confirmed by a Nissan dealership's service department. The service manager stated that he and his team would not plug the control module connector back in without my express direction because they considered it a fire hazard and a safety risk. There was no warning of this failure; the component simply stopped working but remained a fire risk. The only way I learned of the control module melting was after having the dealer's service department diagnose why the feature was no longer working. From the dealer's diagnosis (in writing): "Driver's climate control seat control module connector melted. Recommend replacing driver's climate control seat control module and driver's front seat harness. Left driver's front climate control seat control module connector unplugged to prevent further issues with system." It is unknown when the component melted. The problem was diagnosed by a Nissan dealership's service department on 29 November 2023.

Is the pearl white paint peeling off the car all over I cannot drive it in the rain. The paint falls off. I cannot wash it but paint peels off the car only has 42,000 miles on it. I bought it brand new it started in July I have went to several dealerships and Consumer affairs, and no one seems to help me. It is all over the Internet. This is not due to any warranty. This is a product before it was built. The paint is no good the car is worthless the way it looks I’ve taken very good care of this car. It’s been stored in a garage. I’m the one drives it. There’s nothing else wrong with the car except the paint is coming off when I go down the highway.
