While travelling in Southern California, I came to a stop to enter I8 on ramp. When I tried to start down the on ramp the truck didn’t want to move and a check engine light came on. The truck went into limp mode so would travel slowly along. I called Mango Auto who could diagnose it the following morning. I did not make it to the shop before the transmission failed completely and the truck wouldn’t move leaving me in traffic in a dangerous spot. Eventually I was towed to the shop in Yuma AZ. They diagnosed it as a complete transmission failure requiring a $10,000 replacement. FCA has issued an extended warranty, but my mileage is 16700 miles over. FCA has a technical bulletin on the issue with the Austin transmission, but has not but should have issued a recall. This failure To issue a recall left me stuck in a dangerous situation and could have resulted in a crash.

The contact owns a 2022 Ram 3500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine made abnormal knocking and ticking sounds. The knocking and ticking sounds became louder while accelerating. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the piston had ingested the grid heater nut. The mechanic replaced the piston, cylinder head assembly, gaskets, rod, gasket intake, Hamilton flat tappet conversion kit, and XDP grid heater. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 88,745.

Vehicle lost drive via the transmission when it disengaged unexpectedly. Known issue that Stellantis classifies under "Customer Satisfaction Notice" instead of a recall. There are many examples of recalls issued by other manufacturers related to loss of drive via the transmission, so why is this being treated as a notice of inconvenience versus a safety issue? Issue is being addressed via a Technical Service Bulletin where units that fail are repaired after the fact versus proactively inspected and replaced.

The center infotainment stack screen refused to power up when starting the vehicle. The radio and hvac functions worked, but the screen would not turn on preventing the backup camera from functioning. Restarting the system twice and restarting the vehicle failed to get the system to function. Upon restart several hours later all systems appear to function normally. A video is available of the failure.

My 2022 Ram 3500 was manufactured without the **Particulate Matter (PM) Sensor**, a defect officially acknowledged in Recall Y43. This factory omission has caused terminal blockage of the **Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF)**—a specific consequential failure documented in the manufacturer's own recall filing. **Technical Argument:** 1. **Causal Link:** The official Y43 recall notice states: *"The PM sensor... may not have been installed... This could increase vehicle emissions and **block the diesel particulate filter**."* My vehicle currently suffers from the exact "blocked DPF" condition described. 2. **Ineffective Remedy:** Stellantis has offered to install the missing sensor (the Y43 part) but refuses to replace the ruined DPF. Installing a sensor on a filter already terminally blocked due to the sensor's absence is not an "effective remedy" under the **National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act**. 3. **Warranty Admission:** Per **TSB 09-014-22 (X97)**, the manufacturer has issued a 1-year unlimited mile warranty extension for the DPF specifically for vehicles affected by Y43. Refusing to replace a filter that failed *before* the recall was performed is an attempt to circumvent this warranty obligation. **Safety Risk:** The vehicle is currently in "Limp Mode" with a "Filter Full - Power Reduced" message. This creates an unreasonable safety risk of **stalling or loss of power** while operating on public highways, a condition explicitly mentioned in the Y43 safety report as increasing the risk of an accident. I own this truck and have had issues with the exhaust regeneration process for about 6 months. I have taken it to the dealer 3 times and they have done diagnostics and replaced the diesel particulate filter, but the issue continues to happen. They have now told me that the system is not reparable and they don't have support from RAM manufacturer to troubleshoot and repair this issue. They have multiple customers with the same issue with the diesel exhaust system not operating properly, hampering the engine performance, damaging the engine and exhaust system, polluting from the exhaust discharge. This is a widely known issue with the 2022 Ram 3500 from other owners, yet RAM refuses to properly address the issue. They advertise their trucks with certain horsepower and output specs, which aren't accurate due to their faulty exhaust systems. Consumers are now completely removing the factoring exhaust systems because they damage the engines and cost thousands of dollars to attempt to repair, which many times never work. This needs to be addressed with RAM and recalls put in place to address the failures with their exhaust systems. My truck has 28,000 miles on it, 3 years old, and is not operable. The dealer has had 3 attempts to repair this and is now turning me away. Please help! Thank you

The engine warning light was illuminated. The local dealer was contacted, and it was determined that the grid heater bolt had melted and fallen into the engine. The vehicle was repaired after two months due to the piston being on backorder. The manufacturer was contacted, but no additional assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000. The VIN was not available.

Driver of the 2022 Ram 3500 pulled out of a driveway onto a street and ran over a pedestrian who was crossing in front of him. Driver states he did not see the pedestrian. I understand the 2022 Ram 3500 is equipped with front ParkSense Sensors, but these sensors failed to deploy. The pedestrian suffered very serious injuries requiring weeks of hospitalization and additional outpatient rehabilitation. The incident is caught on surveillance camera. The vehicle should be available for inspection upon request. The vehicle has not been inspected.

I have had the seal between the transmission and transfer case replaced 3 times due to leaking since new and after each repair within miles of each repair and all prior to the vehicle reaching 50,000 miles. The last time it was repaired at 65,000 miles they decided to replace the transmission with a new transmission - it also leaked between the transmission and transfer case within 1 day and less than 100 miles.

Every month I am receiving a check engine light for abs / traction control / failure. Dealer states HPU unit is bad, however I noticed all the fuses in the fuse box were loose. I pushed them in to reseat and the error cleared. This happens monthly. This last time happened during a snow storm and disabled abs.

***1*** The emissions system on this truck (2022 Ram 3500 with 34,435 miles) has been problematic since I acquired it 5 months ago. It continually attempts to regenerate and rid itself of ash/soot buildup. If it does not successfully regenerate, it will go into a state of reduced power, also known as limp mode. The truck is available for inspection and will be at Lithia CDJR in Corpus Christi tomorrow, 07 Jan 2026. ***2*** Today specifically, the truck flashed a message EXHAUST FILTER NEARING FULL SAFELY DRIVE AT CONSISTENT SPEED TO CLEAR. I got on the highway to achieve this and avoid lights and stop/go traffic. It typically takes around 25 minutes of consistent driving for it to clear. But today, shortly after I reached highway speeds, the truck entered limp mode, displaying EXHAUST FILTER FULL REDUCED POWER SEE DEALER. This was a very alarming incident that created a bottleneck on the highway and presumably for me to nearly be rear ended as it happened at 5:35pm. I was able to safely make it off of the highway, however this incident has put the lives of all motorists on the road around me today in danger. ***3*** The truck has been inspected numerous times by the dealership. The Diesel Particulate Filter was replaced on 01 October 2025 (this was the first time the truck went into limp mode on me). The frequent regenerations continued after the DPF replacement and a sensor was replaced on 29 October 2025. Regens continue at approximately 1 per week. ***4*** This is a known issue amongst the community of RAM truck owners. It's unfortunate that many do not report it because the safety issue could easily set off a chain reaction, especially if this heavy duty truck were to be towing a heavy load as it capable of doing.

The contact owns a 2022 Ram 3500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate while the accelerator pedal was depressed. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed; however, the cause of the failure was not determined. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the same dealer approximately eight times, and a loaner vehicle was provided; however, after several unknown repairs, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was previously repaired under warranty. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.

The # 4 cam bearing seized to the camshaft. Upon further investigation the #4 main bearing was damaged from metal chips that were not removed during the manufacture of the engine. This damage from the manufacturing defect left the engine block damaged beyond repair. So a short block was ordered and installed.

My pm sensors or particulate matter system malfunction and failed which lead to emissions issues and created my vehicle to drive in limp mode. Limp mode basically slowed downs the vehicle is slow as 5 mph as soon as this light displays at any time while driving on the highway. This put my safety in danger and the public as I transport what dot considers a type hazardous material. The sudden loss of power in the middle of the road has made vehicles around me extremely vulnerable to fatal collisions. I took my vehicle to the dealership where they confirmed this malfunction and problem with my vehicle but no recall has been issued as of yet no warning lamps appeared prior to the failure.

The contact owns a 2022 Ram Promaster 3500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 MPH, the steering wheel malfunctioned and jerked out of his hands and became difficult to turn in either direction. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the steering rack and steering rack wiring harness was faulty and needed to be replaced. The steering rack and steering rack wiring harness were replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle had previously experienced the failure, and the steering rack wiring harness was replaced, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 60,910.

While driving on interstate leaving a construction zone started to accelerate to maybe 40mph and heard/felt a hard clang and lost all forward motion costed to side of interstate. Looked underneath truck, nothing visible broken or leaking. Restarted truck tried to move forward with no luck. Reverse worked, put back in drive loud noise again stomped on the accelerator and started moving forward very slow and difficult. Made it to an exit to look at things in a safer location than the busy interstate. Figured out that I had reverse and 5th gear so it was very hard/ slow to get moving. Check engine light on, gear ration incorrect, code P0731, Tran sensor failure, no 4x4 Transmission failure 1-4 gears not working

The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and attempting to accelerate, the electric power steering was not functioning properly, requiring an increased effort to maneuver the vehicle. The contact was able to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the wiring harness connector due to water intrusion, resulting in damages to the electric power steering control module. The contact was informed that the connector seal had failed to prevent the entrance of water leading to water damage. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 20,000.
