TOOK MY MOTORCYCLE IN DURING THE INITIAL IN 2008. INSPECTION, NOTHING DONE.JUNE 22,2016 MADE A RIGHT TURN TO GET ON EXPRESSWAY, THE ENGINE DIED.TOWED THE BIKE HOME, TEST BATTERY ALL OK. WIGGLED THE WIRE COMING FROM THE IGNITION AND THE BIKE STARTED.SUZUKI AND THE DEALER REFUSE TO FIX THE RECALLED DEFECTIVE PART. THERE APPERASTO BE A SHORT IN THE WIE COMING FROM THE IGNITION.

I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL LETTER FROM SUZUKI,AND THEIR DISTRIBUTOR SUZUKI DEL CARIBE,INC. AROUND FEB/2010, THE SAFETY RECALL ID #79259 , DURING THE SAME MONTH AND YEAR 02/2010, I TAKE MY MOTORCYCLE TO THE SUZUKI PREMISES IN PR AND THEY REPLACED THE RECTIFIER, THEN AFTER A YEAR I TAKE THE MOTORCYCLE BACK WITH THE SAME PROBLEM,THEY REPLACED,THEN ABOUT MONTH AGO,THE REPLACEMENT PART FAILED AGAIN,NOW SUZUKI,ESTABLISH THAT MY MOTORCYCLE IS NOT UNDER SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN,AND REJECT TO REPLACE THE PART IN QUESTION,I HAVE MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS BUT THE RESULTS HAVE BEEN FRUITLESS,PLEASE I ONLY WANT THAT THE DEFECTIVE PART BE REPLACE.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SUZUKI GSX 650FS (NA). WHILE DRIVING LESS THAN 50 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO SWITCH FROM FIFTH TO SIXTH GEAR, THE VEHICLE DID NOT ENGAGE. THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD CLUNKING SOUND. THE REAR TIRE LOCKED AND EJECTED THE OCCUPANT FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO HIS ELBOW, WHICH REQUIRED STITCHES, IN ADDITION TO BACK INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT IS STILL AWAITING A DIAGNOSTIC. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 2,188.

WHEN RIDING AT A STABLE SPEED, MOTORCYCLE WILL LOSE POWER AND SPEED WITH NO CHANGE IN THROTTLE POSITION. THIS OCCURS IN 3RD THROUGH 6TH GEAR, 6500-7500 RPMS, IN SPEEDS RANGING FROM 30-75 MPH. THIS PROBLEM RESULTS IN A DECREASE IN SPEED FROM 3-6 MPH BEFORE BIKE RECOVERS. UPON RECOVERY, BIKE WILL JERK FORWARD, CAUSING A VERY UNSAFE INCREASE IN SPEED. MY MOTORCYCLE STARTED MAKING LOUD ENGINE NOISES AT AROUND 900 MILES. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED IT TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. THE MECHANIC HEARD THE NOISE AND THOUGHT IT MAY BE THE CAM CHAIN. THEY REPLACED THE 2ND AND 3RD GEAR BEARINGS, PUT THE BIKE BACK TOGETHER AND IT WAS STILL MAKING THE LOUD ENGINE NOISE THAT I TOOK IT IN FOR. THE DEALER TOLD ME TO TAKE THE BIKE, RIDE IT AND THEY WOULD HAVE ME BRING IT BACK WHEN THE REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE COMPANY CAME TO LISTEN AND LOOK AT THE BIKE. I TOOK THE BIKE HOME FROM THE DEALER AND THE ENGINE BLEW UP ON MY WAY HOME. I HAD TO PUT MY LEG DOWN TO AVOID LAYING THE BIKE DOWN AND INJURED MY KNEE. THE DEALER CAME TO PICK UP THE BIKE AND A REP. FROM THE COMPANY CAME TO LOOK AT THE DAMAGE BUT THEY REFUSE TO FIX THE PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH IT IS UNDER WARRANTY AND IT WAS A MONTH OLD WHEN I STARTED HAVING THE PROBLEM. I HAVE BEEN GOING BACK AND FOURTH WITH THE DEALER AND COMPANY THAT MADE THE BIKE AND HAVE HAD NO RESULTS. *THE BIKE IS A SUZUKI GSX-R 750. IT DID NOT GIVE ME THAT OPTION IN THE MODEL SECTION OF THIS COMPLAINT. *TR

THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN LABELED THE HERKY JERKIES. WHILE RIDING AT ANY RPM WHEN THE REAR WHEEL SPEED MATCHES ENGINE SPEED THE THROTTLE SHUTS OFF ABRUPTLY WITH NO WARNING, THROWING YOU FORWARD OVERLOADING THE FRONT WHEEL. WHEN THE WHEEL SLOWS ENOUGH THAT THE ECU CALLS FOR FUEL IT DELIVERS A LARGE AMOUNT OF FUEL AND THE BIKE JERKS FORWARD UNLOADING THE FRONT WHEEL CAUSING AN UNRECOVERABLE FRONT WHEEL SLIDE (WHILE LEANED OVER IN A TURN). THERE IS A LARGE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE INCLUDING MYSELF WORKING ON THE PROBLEM, WE HAVE DISCOVERED WAYS TO MASK THE PROBLEM BUT NO RESOLUTION TO DATE. SUZUKI HAS RECEIVED MANY COMPLAINTS AND IS NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I HAVE CALLED IN NUMEROUS TIMES STARTING SOME TIME AROUND MARCH. I HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH PEOPLE ON GIXXER.COM IT'S A FORUM FOR GSX R OWNERS AND THERE ARE MANY THREADS CONCERNING THIS ISSUE. I / WE ARE HOPING THAT YOUR ORGANIZATION WILL BE ABLE TO SOLICIT A RESPONSE FROM SUZUKI, SEEING AS THOUGH THEY ARE IGNORING US. THIS IS A VERY BIG PROBLEM AND CAN LEAD TO MANY MOTORCYCLE CRASHES...SEEING HOW IT HAPPENS SO FAST...IF THIS HAPPENS IN A TURN WHEN THE BIKE IS AT A LEAN THE RIDER WILL GO DOWN AND NO ONE WANT TO SEE A FELLOW RIDER GET HURT BECAUSE OF BIKE ERROR THAT COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED. *TR
