COMING HOME FROM WORK ON HIGHWAY.. GOING UP SMALL INCLINE SPEED STARTED TO DROP. THEN SHUT OFF. SMOKE FROM UNDER HOOD WOULD NOT START. MADE A CLICKING NOISE. COMPUTER READ SEVERAL CODES RELATING TO KNOCK SENSOR. WAS REPLACED (2ND TIME) AND CODES CLEARED. STILL NOT STARTING. NO CODES SHOWING. STARTER ALSO REPLACED. OTHER RELAY SENSORS CHECKED. THIS CAR HAS BEEN AN EXPENSE EVER SINCE PURCHASED.

THE DEALER REPLACED THE BALL JOINTS, WHICH DID NOT PREVENT THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN FOR AN INSPECTION AND AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A LOOSE BOLT THAT NEEDED TO BE REMOVED AND REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,300.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE BECAUSE NHTSA ISSUED RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 74,000.

THERMOSTAT STAYED CLOSED.NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON.DRIVING ON INTERSTATE.CAR JUST SHUT DOWN.SPEED WAS 65 TO 70.O2 SENSOR HAS GONE OUT ALSO FOR THE SECOND TIME IN TWO AND HALF YEARS.THE CAR HAD ONLY ABOUT 68000.MILES WHEN THE THERMOSTAT GOT STUCK.HAD TO HAVE MAJOR WORK DONE ON THE CAR.HEAD DID NOT CRACK.IT HAD TO BE REPAIRED.ALONG WITH OTHER ISSUES BECAUSE OF THAT PROBLEM.
CAR BECAME UNRESPONSIVE TO THE GAS PEDAL AT 45 MPH. A LOUD CLICKING NOISE COULD BE HEARD UNDERNEATH ABOUT MID BODY. IT DOESNT WANT TO ACCELERATE FOR PASSING ETC. COULD SMELL FUEL AND THE CAR WAS SMOKING LIGHTLY WHEN I GOT IT HOME. SAT IT FOR 30 MINUTES AND IT SEEMS TO BE OK FOR NOW,BUT HAVENT BEEN ON HIGHWAY YET. 36,000 MILES.
FOUR TIRES OF AUTOGRIP P308 40K/AG308P1402 WERE PURCHASED IN LATE NOVEMBER 2015 WHEN THE VEHICLE HAD 61674 MILES ON IT. THE VEHICLE WAS IN FOR SERVICE IN LATE FEBRUARY 2017 WITH ONLY 69933 MILES WHEN THE MECHANIC NOTICED THE TIRES WERE WORN TO THE WEARBAR. THIS WAS NOT THE LOCATION WHERE THE TIRES HAD BEEN PURCHASED. FOR WARRANTY REASONS THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCATION WHERE THE TIRES HAD BEEN PURCHASED AND HAD THEM REPLACED, THE COMPANY THAT THE TIRES WERE ORIGINALLY PURCHASED FROM DID NOT REPLACE TIRES FOR FREE, BUT PRORATED THE COST OF NEW TIRES. THEY NO LONGER CARRY THIS BRAND AND CLAIM THE VEHICLE CAUSED THE PROBLEM. MY SPOUSE AND I FEEL THAT THE TIRES THEMSELVES WERE DEFECTIVE, BUT DO NOT SEE ANY RECALL ON THIS PRODUCT. THIS IS THE SIXTH VEHICLE THAT WE HAVE OWNED IN OUR ADULT LIVES AND HAVE NOT EXPERIENCE SUCH A QUICK PRODUCT FAILURE WITH TIRES. WE BELIEVE AN INVESTIGATION IS IN ORDER AND THANK YOU FOR REVIEWING THE CONCERN.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. AFTER THE FAILURE, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 122,000.

MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND STREETS THE CAR WILL LOOSE SPEED WHILE YOUR DRIVING AND STALL AS IF IT'S NOT GETTING FUEL. SHE WAS ON THE EXPRESSWAY AND LUCKY SHE WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE AND WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER BEFORE THE CAR DIED OUT. I HAD THIS PROBLEM CHECK SEVERAL TIMES AND REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND FUEL SENSOR AND STILL AM HAVING THE PROBLEM. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST ON 10-1-2015
STOPPED AT STOP SIGN WENT TO RESUME DRIVING PRESSED DOWN ON GAS PEDDLE NO POWER . CAR WAS STILL ON BUT GAS PEDDLE WAS DEPRESSED TO THE FLOOR WITH NO AFFECT...NEXT OCCURRENCE AT STOP LIGHT NO POWER WHEN GAS PEDDLE DEPRESSED. SAME PROBLEM WITH MY SILVER AVEO ODI #10660361 ONLY WAS IN MOTION WHEN NO POWER OCCURRED .HAPPENED THREE TIMES WITH SILVER AVEO.
