REVERSE LIGHTS DO NOT WORK. TOLD BY 2 MECHANICS THAT CHRYSLER HAD REPAIRED VIA RECALL OR LETTERS IN PAST. I WAS TOLD THIS IS A ROUTINE PROBLEM WITH THE CAR. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE COVERED.

SO I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND I HEARD A NOISE FROM THE REAR END OF THE VAN MIND YOU THE SPEED LIMIT IS 45MPH HERE. I DRIVE IT TO THE NEAREST SHOP TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT , THEY CAME IN AND TOLD ME I'M LUCKY TO HAVE MADE IT THIS FAR AS ( THE REAR CHASSIS HAS BROKE! ) THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED JUST LIKE FORD MOTOR COMPANY DID WITH THEIR VANS !!! I HAVE HEARD ABOUT OTHER VOYAGER VANS HAVING THIS ISSUE IN SALT BELT STATES .

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHRYSLER VOYAGER. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND FAILED TO ACCELERATE OVER 50 MPH. THE VEHICLE FELT AS IF IT WOULD STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL CABLE FAILURE THAT RAN THROUGH THE FUEL INJECTION AND NEEDED TO REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 217,000.

THE FAILURE CAME SUDDENLY. ONE DAY, WHILE DRIVING, THE AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THEN WAS EXTINGUISHED A FEW MINUTES AFTER. THE SECOND OR THIRD TIME IT ON REMAINED LIT PERMANENTLY. I IMMEDIATELY REPORTED TO THE GARAGE IN WHICH I BOUGHT THE CAR ON OCCASION. COULD FIND THE FAILURE. HE ASKED ME TO GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHRYSLER DEALER. THE FAILURE HAS NOT REPAIRED, EVEN THE CRUISE CONTROL AND THE HORN ARE INOPERATIVE. I CAN NO LONGER TAKE THE VEHICLE. I CALLED THE CHRYSLER DEALER IN REGION TO TALK HIM ABOUT IT. HE TOLD ME THAT THIS FAILURE, WITHOUT ANY OTHER FAILURE WILL BE CHARGED AROUND 300-350 EUROS BECAUSE MY CAR IS NO LONGER ON SAFETY WARRANTY AND IT IS ALSO NOT AFFECTED BY THE RECALL OF THE CHRYSLER VOYAGER FOR THOSE SAME FAILURES. THE CHARGE IS VERY EXPENSIVE FOR ME. IT IS THEN I TRY TO FIND HELP ON INTERNET THAT I CAME ACROSS YOUR WEBSITE. THAT IS MY ENTIRE PROBLEM. AT THE TIME, THE CRUISE CONTROL WORKS ONCE ON THREE, AND THEN AFTER NOTHING. THE AIRBAG LIGHT REMAINS LIT CONTINUOUSLY, THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK, AND WORSE THE HORN IS INOPERATIVE. RECENTLY I NOTICED THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS "SPONGY"- I INSPECTED THE BRAKE SYSTEM AND FOUND A STEEL PORTION OF LEFT REAR BRAKE LINE ASSEMBLY RUSTED AND LEAKING. THE LINE FELL APART COMPLETELY DURING REMOVAL. THE LINE ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED. I DO HAVE THE OLD LINE ASSEMBLY FOR INSPECTION. THIS VEHICLE HAS BRAKES THAT WEAR OUT MORE FREQUENTLY THAN ANY OTHER VEHICLE I'VE EVER OWNED. I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT BRAKES TWICE AND THE REAR BRAKES AND WHEEL CYLINDERS IN LESS THAN 60,000 MILES. WHEN I TRY TO OBTAIN REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR THE FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM I INVARIABLY RECEIVE THE WRONG PARTS- I HAVE TO GET PARTS LISTED FOR A 4 CYL. VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH MINE IS A V-6. I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL NAME-BRAND PARTS MANUFACTURERS AND ALL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. I BELIEVE MY VEHICLE WAS ASSEMBLED AT THE FACTORY WITH THE WRONG FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM WHICH IS UNDERRATED AND RESULTS IN PREMATURE WEAR. I HAVE ALSO, ON A PREVIOUS OCCASION, HAD AN ISSUE WITH AN "ABS" LIGHT AND "BRAKE" LIGHT COMING ON- EVEN THOUGH MY VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES. AT THAT TIME THERE WERE NO LEAKS OR OTHER FAULTS TO CAUSE THE WARNING LIGHTS. I WAS FORCED TO PAY THE DEALER TO "RE-FLASH" THE COMPUTER WHICH WAS IMPROPERLY PROGRAMMED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER HAD A TSB FOR THIS CONDITION AND I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN A CHARGE TO CORRECT A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD SEVERAL BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEMS WHICH SHOULD NOT BE OCCURRING ON A VEHICLE WITH LESS THAN 60,000 MILES! *TR

I TOOK THE CAR IN TO MY MECHANIC ON NOV 21, 2005, AND THEY COULD NOT RECREATE THE PROBLEM NOR COULD THEY IDENTIFY THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. I DROVE THE CAR FOR ABOUT A MONTH WITHOUT A REPEAT INCIDENT, BUT LAST WEEK (AROUND FOURTH WEEK IN DEC) THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. I PLAN TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALER NEXT WEEK. I AM SUBMITTING THIS COMPLAINT BECAUSE I HAVE READ ONLINE THAT THERE IS AN ONGOING GOVERNMENT INVESTIGATION INTO THIS PROBLEM WITH 2001 AND 2002 MODEL YEAR CHRYSLER MINIVANS, AND I WANT TO GO ON RECORD AS EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM WITH A 2003 MODEL YEAR MINIVAN. HOW A VEHICLE THAT ONLY HAS APPROXIMATELY 22,900 MILES ON IT AND WAS BOUGHT NEW CAN BE TAKEN TO THE SHOP OVER 16 TIMES ALREADY WITH MAJOR ISSUES. AT 1,734 MILES THE RADIATOR HOSE/OUTLETS/INJECTOR FUEL HAD TO BE REPLACED, AT 7,749 MILES AND SEVERAL TRIPS REPLACED PADS, DISC BRAKES, ROTORS (BOTH SIDES) AFTER FINDING BREAK LINE OFF FROM FACTORY, AT 12,275 MILES REPLACED PRIME PUMP/GASKET/SPACER, AT 12,913 MILES REPLACED BOTH SWAY BARS AND BUSHINGS/GLASS & REGULATOR ON PASSENGER FRONT DOOR, AT 17,163 MILES REPLACED POWER STEERING HOSE, AT 17,812 MILES HAD TO REPLACE ROTORS & BRAKES BOTH SIDES (3RD SET ON VEHICLE), AT 20,662 REPLACED COWL CLIP/SEALED UP FRONT WINDSHIELD/REPLACED SWAY BAR(3RD SET ON VEHICLE), AT 20,900 REPLACED HOSE/VAPOR CANISTER. AT 22,422 REPLACED SOP/COWL PANEL. THE ABOVE ISSUES HAVE ALL BEEN DONE DURING THE DATES 04-07-03 TO 07-20-05. OUR CONCERN IS IF ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS HAVE COME IN ON THE SAME ISSUE OR IS IT POSSIBLE THIS IS JUST A BAD VEHICLE. IT SEEMS TO BE IN THE SHOP EVERY 2 TO 3 MONTHS. ALSO, SINCE THE BRAKES/ROTORS/SWAY BAR CONTINUE TO BE REPLACED OUR CONCERN IT THAT SOMETIME IT MAY FAIL AND RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH. SEEMS THE PIECES THAT ARE BEING REPLACED HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES, MAKING US QUESTION IF SOMETHING ON THE VEHICLE IS OFF IN THE BUILDING OF THIS VEHICLE TO CAUSE SUCH WEAR AND TEAR ON MAIN ITEMS THAT YOU USE TO STEER AND MOVE THE VEHICLE WITH. THE OLD PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE, WE DID TRY TO ASK THE DEALER FOR THE OLD BRAKES BUT WAS ADVISED THEY COULD NOT GIVE AS THEY NEED TO HAVE A EVIDENCE TO GET THE 1ST SET PAID FOR AND THE 2ND SET WAS SET UP FOR US TO PAY A PORTION OF THE BILL. *NM
