As I was driving the other night, the entire dashboard/odometer/screen/etc went black and displayed a “network connection lost” error. In researching this, I discovered there is a safety recall for the MOST Bus connection for certain 2018-2022 Odysseys. My VIN number is not included in the recall, but I am writing to you to see if the recall should include other VIN numbers as this is a serious safety issue and not something that would have been caused by me since the MOST system is located behind the dashboard, and I was simply just driving home. I called my local Honda dealership who said they would charge me $220 just to diagnose the issue. I have told them what the issue is and that what I experienced is same as listed in the current recall, but my VIN number is not included in that recall and suggested that they should report this to Honda so Honda can extend the recall to include other VINs within those specified years. Please encourage Honda to include other VINs in this current recall as this is a safety issue caused by a faulty Honda part. Thank you so much.

My 2019 Honda Odyssey stalled at a red light, then had an extended crank/no-start. It later hesitated and almost stalled while driving around 40 mph, and stalled again when I got home. The dash showed Emissions System Problem along with VSA, EPS, Brake System, Brake Hold, Hill Start Assist, and Road Departure warnings. Please check open recalls, especially the fuel pump recall, scan all stored and pending codes, test battery and alternator, and check fuel pressure and fuel pressure leak-down.

Collision mitigation system problem, auto high beam problem , lane keep assist problem, adaptive cruise control problem, road departure mitigation problem. All of these lights came on at the same time then a transmission problem light came on. Was told by a mechanic that Honda has an issue with a lot of these because of where it sits directly in the sun. All of these problems seem to be connected.

The front camera failed and made all driver assist, automatic braking, lane departure and collision warnings to fail. The cost of a new camera and calibrations is $2000. This critical piece of safety should not fail so soon or be that expensive to replace.

The incident is that the rear brakes keep wearing much faster than the front. New brake pads do not last after only less then 10,000 miles of driving. Dealership and mechanic expect that there is a caliber issue with the 2019 model that is causing the rear brakes to wear too fast. Manufacturer should remedy this issue.

Automatic sliding door on the driver's side has a rear latch that will not hold the door closed. Currently being fixed at dealer. There was a recall for this model and year for this problem, however my VIN number is not included in the recall

Water entered rear panel causing tailgate control module to get wet and stop working. This caused my tailgate to have no power and unable to close due to the latch being stuck in a closed position. Door was open unable to latch closed while I had to drive the vehicle to a mechanic.

Rear passenger suspension failed. Was driving car when I bumped a rut in the road causing failure. No prior warnings prior to incident. Took car to mechanic and the suspension was rusted and nearly snapped in half. Car has received regular maintenance and no issues with suspension had been observed prior.

For the past 6 months the vehicle shows warnings regarding lane keeping assistance problems, cruise problems, braking problems,. The warning can show up in the middle of driving, or right at start. Sometimes they go away while driving.

The rear suspension coil spring on my vehicle fractured and failed. The failure was diagnosed and confirmed by a Honda dealership. The broken spring remains available for inspection upon request. The failure creates a significant safety concern because the vehicle's ride height, handling, and suspension performance are compromised. A broken coil spring can shift position, contact the tire, damage suspension components, and potentially affect vehicle control. The dealership advised that the spring requires replacement. The condition was confirmed by a Honda dealer during inspection. I was informed that replacement OEM springs are on national backorder and are currently unavailable. As a result, the vehicle cannot be repaired with the factory part in a reasonable timeframe. The vehicle has been inspected by a Honda dealership. No accident, collision, or unusual road hazard preceded the failure. Prior to diagnosis, I noticed abnormal suspension noises from the rear of the vehicle, including clunking/creaking sounds while driving over bumps at low speeds. No dashboard warning lights or warning messages were displayed because the suspension system is not monitored by a warning lamp. I am concerned that this may be a broader defect because other Honda Odyssey owners have reported similar rear spring failures, and the replacement parts are difficult to obtain. The combination of a safety-related suspension failure and lack of available replacement parts has left the vehicle unable to be repaired promptly.

Warnings Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assistance, Collision Warning Systems, Brake System showed up while driving the vehicle, upon further search it was found there is a common issue with Honda Odyssey's multipurpose camera, and the dealer is charging 2000$ to fix it. This is a common problem in all the Honda Odyssey. I request NHTSA to look further into this issue and perform a recall or a free of charge installation. The official Honda Odyssey Forum online has countless complaints on the same issue without resolution by Honda. Honda has acted in bad-faith towards their customers since this defect impacts the vehicle's advanced safety features for which buyers incur additional expenses, endangering the lives of passengers. Honda designed a system that requires continuous and substantial expenditures without resolution because it is an engineering problem, i.e., the placement of the radar behind the large, thick plastic H emblem obstructs the radar. I hereby ask that the NHTSA investigate this issue and order Honda to offer a solution in the form of a RECALL that permanent addresses the problem

The DTC U300-49 suddenly failed which affects many of the security systems on the 2019 Honda Odyssey. Upon research, this is very common on the Honda Odyssey caused by it overheating which seems like it should be a dangerous part. It is such an expensive part that we as the consumer have to replace and it should be Honda replacing it if it is their fault that this part fails often. I haven't replaced it as we don't have the funds to replace it, so hopefully it won't pose a safety threat as there are 5 warnings showing on my screen daily.

While operating the left power sliding door of my 2019 Honda Odyssey, the door came off its tracks during normal use. As the door disengaged, the rear-side glass shattered. The failure required replacement of the power sliding door drive motor, center roller, center roller rail assembly, and rear glass. Broken glass was scattered inside and outside the vehicle, and I sustained a small cut on my hand while cleaning up the shattered glass. The vehicle had approximately 78,000 miles. I believe a power sliding door should not come off its track during normal operation, and this created a safety hazard to due the shattered glass and potential for occupant injury. After the door came off its track and the glass shattered, I was unable to close or secure the sliding door. The vehicle could not be safely operated with the door in that condition, creating an additional safety concern. I had to take the vehicle around the corner to the closest car repair shop for help with getting the door to shut- they couldn't get the door to shut without cutting the cord.

The camera located behind the rearview mirror is faulty. In hot weather locations (like mine in Florida) it stops working. And that means all electronically assisted driving systems LKAS (like cruise control, auto high beam, lane departure, auto distance monitor/collision warning, etc.) malfunction, giving flashing messages about all non-working features. This is due to CMOS image sensor degradation caused by heat exposure. Many people have expressed concerns about this on different Honda forums online. I took it to a Honda dealer and after paying a fee for diagnosis, the service manager said that when the temperature outside gets hot, they get a lot of this kind of service request. They want over $2,300 to replace the camera. They were actually puzzled why Honda does not recall this item. Honda needs to address this since it is actually safety related and indeed a faulty item. There should be no reason for people to pay this outrageous price for something that is clearly a manufacturing problem.

Fuel pump injector needs to be replaced at approximately 68,000 miles. Honda issued an extended warranty on fuel pump injectors for 2018-2019 models but refuses to cover replace it. Check engine light came on due to injector failure. This poses an extreme safety risk.
