My engine light came on, and the codes reported were P0441 P04F1 U0401 and P0172. I took the car to the dealer for a diagnostic and they stated it was the fuel injectors. Their is a TSB 21-010 related to this situation, however my car's vin wasn't covered by the TSB. I have two coworkers with the same engine, and they had the same issues and were covered on the TSB. I spoke with my local shop to get a quote and they mentioned doing a lot of fuel injector replacement on Honda lately. It seems like the scope of the TSB wasn't wide enough to include all affected VINs.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was diagnosed with fuel injector failure. The contact was informed that the fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The fuel injectors were replaced. The contact became aware of Technical Service Bulletin: 21-010, NHTSA ID Number: 10187008 (Engine and Engine Cooling, Electrical System, Equipment, Power Train). The contact called the dealer, and it was confirmed that the VIN was not covered under an extended warranty. The manufacturer was informed of the issue and confirmed that the vehicle was not included. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 91,670.

The vehicle experienced a check engine light with code P0430 and a failed Air/Fuel ratio test due to defective fuel injectors leaking raw fuel into the exhaust bank. This failure completely mirrors the factory defect in Honda Service Bulletin A21-010 (NHTSA ID: 10187008), which extends the fuel injector warranty to 10 years/150,000 miles. A certified Honda dealer verified the exact codes and components but explicitly denied the mandatory corporate warranty extension, attempting to charge $1,804.51 out-of-pocket and ignoring subsequent communication. Unburned raw fuel dumping into the catalytic converter presents a progressive engine failure and exhaust safety hazard.

When at a red light or stop sign the vehicle will idle and turn off. The vehicle doesn’t want to restart. It takes a bit to get started again then it progresses. While parked I turned the car off for 5 minutes and it would not start up again. Tried the jump cables to make sure it wasn’t the battery had to have a tow truck come they were able to get the car jumped and started. Took the battery to get tested and the battery was perfectly fine. Something is wrong with the starter. It doesn’t happen all the time but it has happened to me a few times and it’s not safe with me and kids in the car.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while merging onto the highway at 40 MPH, the vehicle lost power and several warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact coasted the vehicle to the shoulder of the highway, and the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The independent mechanic diagnosed that an unknown engine component failed, causing the timing belt to snap and resulting in engine failure. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Action Number: PE25008 (Engine). The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that there were no open recalls associated with the VIN. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

We have had the car since bought new in 2019 and has about 105k miles. Since then it has had 4 new batteries and going to the dealership again for the same issue. The car struggles to start sometime and other we have to take multiple sttemps to hit the start button. Even then it feels like it is struggling to start. Also if we leave the start/stop fucnction "On" it stugggles to start at stop lights and in the most recent case it did the start at a stoplight once again. This has happened multiple time since we got the car and the dealership has done all the recalls and repalced the battery multiple time. This newest case the battery is new from Honda and less then a year old. We are afraid and concerned if the car will turn on anytime we go somewhere and trust my 2012. No warning light or anything comes on. If stopped in the wrong place this can cause a serious accident or injury.

Beginning last week, when shifting into reverse, the infotainment display (showing camera image) displays distorted, scrambled, or rolling color lines. Although Many 2019–2022 Honda Pilot SUVs are covered by an official safety recall (NHTSA Campaign 23V431) due to a defective coaxial cable connector (MOST connector) that deforms terminals and loses connection, this particular vehicle is not included in this safety recall. As we have young children, our safety is at risk because the rear-facing camera is not functional. Vehicle has not yet been inspected by manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There were no warning lamps, messages or other indications or symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. I am happy to make the vehicle available for inspection.

This vehicle exhibits an issue with the fold down sun visors on both sides whereby the hinge mechanism is extremely tight. So much to the point that the sun visors will no longer fold up out of the drivers view. Additionally, if the vehicle was to be involved in an accident the front driver and passenger's heads would likely impact the partially lowered sun visor possibly resulting in additional injury. When brought to the attention of the service department at my local dealer, I was told there is no way to lubricate the hinge mechanism and I'd have to purchase new sun visors as it is a trim item not covered by my extended warranty. This issue started to occur around the 90,000 mile mark and has continued to get worse. The vehicle currently has approximately 120,000 miles now.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while reversing, the rear-view camera displayed a purple and green screen. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by a dealer or an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was notified of the failure by email, but no response was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 112,000.

The Auto Idle Stop/Start system on my 2019 Honda Pilot has failed at least a dozen times. When the vehicle is stopped and Auto Idle Stop shuts off the engine, the engine sometimes fails to restart when the driver attempts to proceed. The dashboard lights illuminate, but the engine does not restart. The driver must turn the vehicle completely off and manually restart it. The vehicle is available for inspection. This has created a serious safety concern. On multiple occasions, the failure happened to a young driver in my family while stopped at a busy intersection. When traffic began moving, the Pilot would not restart and remained unexpectedly stopped in an active traffic lane. There was no warning that the vehicle would fail to restart, leaving the driver trying to shut down and restart the vehicle while traffic was moving around them. I have taken the vehicle to an authorized Honda dealer multiple times regarding this issue. This is now my third attempt to have the problem addressed. The dealer is now performing the applicable Honda warranty work related to the Auto Idle Stop no-restart condition. There have been no warning lamps or messages immediately before these failures. The Auto Idle Stop system appears to operate normally until the engine is supposed to restart. At that point, the engine fails to restart and dashboard warning lights illuminate. The vehicle has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that the engine light was illuminated. The transmission emission message was displayed. The contact stated that the failure was associated with DTC: P0777. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who recommended a transmission flush. After the transmission flush the vehicle failed to shift from second to third gear. The vehicle was taken to the dealer a second time and another transmission flush was recommended and the dealer eventually determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 124,000.

The connecting rod snapped in my 2019 Honda Pilot V6 engine at 102,000 miles. This is the exact mechanical failure described in NHTSA Recall 23V-751, but Honda is refusing to repair it due to a VIN exclusion. The dealership has confirmed this was a sudden, unpreventable structural component failure.

MY 2019 HONDA PILOT EX-L WAS STOLEN FROM OUR DRIVEWAY IN JERSEY CITY, NJ ON OR ABOUT JULY 16, 2026. THE VEHICLE WAS LOCKED. BOTH FACTORY KEY FOBS REMAINED IN MY POSSESSION AND WERE INSIDE MY RESIDENCE AT THE TIME. NO WINDOW WAS BROKEN AND NO GLASS WAS FOUND AT THE SCENE, INDICATING THE VEHICLE WAS OPENED AND STARTED ELECTRONICALLY RATHER THAN BY FORCED ENTRY OR MECHANICAL BYPASS. WE HAVE A VIDEO RECORDING OF THE INCIDENT CAPTUREd BY OUR HOUSE SECURITY CAMERA. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN RECOVERED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED WITH THE JERSEY CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT [26-140624]. THIS VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH HONDA SMART ENTRY AND PUSH-BUTTON START. SECURITY RESEARCHERS HAVE PUBLICLY DOCUMENTED A ROLLING-CODE VULNERABILITY IN HONDA REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEMS (CVE-2022-27254, KNOWN AS "ROLLING-PWN") REPORTED TO AFFECT HONDA VEHICLES FROM MODEL YEARS 2012 THROUGH 2022, WHICH INCLUDES THIS VEHICLE. HONDA HAS PUBLICLY ACKNOWLEDGED THAT REMOTE KEYLESS COMMANDS CAN BE MIMICKED, BUT HAS STATED IT HAS NO PLAN TO UPDATE OLDER VEHICLES. NO RECALL, SOFTWARE UPDATE, OR OWNER REMEDY HAS BEEN OFFERED FOR THIS VEHICLE. POLICE DEPARTMENTS IN NORTHERN NEW JERSEY, INCLUDING NEWARK, HAVE ISSUED PUBLIC WARNINGS IN 2026 THAT THIEVES ARE USING ELECTRONIC DEVICES TO CAPTURE OR RELAY KEY FOB SIGNALS TO STEAL LATE-MODEL HONDA VEHICLES. THE PATTERN DESCRIBED IN THOSE WARNINGS MATCHES THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF THIS THEFT. I AM REPORTING THIS AS A POTENTIAL SAFETY AND SECURITY DEFECT IN THE VEHICLE'S ELECTRONIC IMMOBILIZER AND KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM. A VEHICLE THAT CAN BE OPENED AND DRIVEN AWAY WITHOUT THE KEY PRESENT DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF THE ANTI-THEFT IMMOBILIZER AND CREATES RISK BEYOND PROPERTY LOSS, INCLUDING THE OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE BY AN UNAUTHORIZED AND UNIDENTIFIED DRIVER ON PUBLIC ROADS. I REQUEST THAT NHTSA INVESTIGATE WHETHER A DEFECT INVESTIGATION IS WARRANTED FOR HONDA KEYLESS ENTRY AND IMMOBILIZER SYSTEMS IN THESE MODEL YEARS.

The entertainment system shuts down and repeatedly restarts during driving. When it shuts down, an error screen states "Network Communication Lost" and "MOST NET OFF". When it shuts down, the rearview camera function fails when the vehicle is in the reverse gear. Using today's date. This failure has occurred repeatedly. The NHTSA Recall Number: 23V-431 does not include this VIN; however, the failure symptoms appear to be identical
