Brakes 2

The self leveling shocks have gone bad two times now in a matter of 4 months. The first time we had no major issues but the second time it caused the ABS system to kick in while making a left turn. The dealer said it was caused by the car not sensing the correct posture because of the shocks turning on the ABS system and causing us not to be able to brake for about 10-15 feet. If there was a person or vehicle in the way we would have crashed.

The front sunroof on our 2023 Hyundai Palisade shattered without any impact and caused a huge explosive sound. When we went outside the car to see if there was any rock or debris, there was no sign of any rocks or debris which caused the front sunroof of our car to shatter. The glass from the shattered sunroof could have possibly hurt us seated in the front seat or could have injured our one year old and six year old kids seated in the middle row.

Tire size: 245/50R20 102V. All four original equipment tires (Hankook Ventus S1 Noble2 H452) developed sidewall failures at approximately 29,000-30,000 miles of normal driving. All four tires showed identical diagonal stress cracking across the upper sidewall, consistent with sidewall flex fatigue. One tire showed visible outward bulging/deformation of the sidewall, indicating internal structural separation. Two tires had areas of outer sidewall rubber torn away with internal cord material exposed. No warning light appeared prior to discovering the damage upon visual inspection. This presented a serious safety risk, as a sidewall in this condition can rupture suddenly at highway speed, causing sudden air loss and potential loss of vehicle control. The vehicle was used for daily driving, including with family passengers, before the damage was found. The tires were inspected and replaced by an independent tire retailer, who confirmed all four required replacement. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance. This same tire model was previously subject to an NHTSA recall (Campaign 15T024) for sidewall cracking on a different size/application, and there is a documented pattern of similar consumer complaints describing sidewall cracking and failure on this tire line, including on other Hyundai models. These were original equipment tires with no known prior impact, collision, or unusual road event before the damage was discovered.

The wipers stopped working midway and they wouldn’t come back on until 15 minutes afterwards. It was pouring down rain and the visibility was terrible and couldn’t see anything in front of me. Our safety was at risk because of the wipers and windshield. We just got our vehicle on 5/12 - and on 5/20 it first happened then took it in - got a loner car - picked up the vehicle 5/21 and on 5/23 the wipers stopped working again and our safety was at risk and visibility was awful. On our vehicle has been at the dealership since 5/25 and haven’t heard from them yet.

I have had to replace tires 5 times since I got the vehicle. The mechanic said there may be a balance issue with the car and it is wearing on the rims/tires prematurely. Currently 63000 miles on car.

I received a recall notice on 3/19/2026 which stated my 2023 Palisade failed to meet safety standards due to "ejection mitigation." I called Hyundai directly for information after the dealership I purchased the car from had no information for me. Hyundai's customer service representative told me the third row was not safe for occupants and that I should not use it because in a roll over it could cause injury or death. She said there haven't been any reported yet but still, don't use it. They did not have a timeframe when it would be fixed. I called my dealership again on 5/20/2026 and asked for any information, compensation, a buyback, or if anything was available to me and they said "we are in the same boat as you. We haven't been able to sell our stock for 4 months. You've only had your notice for 2 months but we've been dealing with this for 4. Some people have been trading their cars in but other than that, there's nothing we can do for you." They said to call Hyundai directly. I called Hyundai and was told there was no information, no remedy, no compensation for the loss of use, no loaner car, or any other options. The representative then said "unfortunately we also cannot escalate your case because there have been no fatalities yet." I'm filing this complaint because it has been over 60 days since I received notice that my vehicle is unsafe, which has resulted in the total loss of use for 3 seats and yet I am still making the full monthly payments on this vehicle to the dealership. And, neither the dealership nor Hyundai is offering any remedy or assistance in any way. I should not have to wait until there is a fatality for Hyundai to act on my vehicles recall and offer some sort or resolution or compensation. I paid full price for the vehicle and should have use of all the vehicle or be given an alternative. Thank you

Transmission 1

Our Hyundai has a powertrain problem that is intermittent and random, and manifests itself in a couple of ways: 1) It drops out of gear while you are driving; there is no forward propulsion at all; the engine will rev when you press the gas, but no forward movement at all. You have to coast to a stop (or panic stop if the traffic allows), put it in reverse, drive backwards, then the transmission will “chunk” back into gear, then you can put it back in drive and continue forward again. This is life-threatening on a busy road or highway. Traffic has to flow around you like water around a rock in a stream while you try to use what’s left of your forward momentum to pull to the side of the road. Absolutely terrifying!!! The dash has also gone completely blank during some of these episodes. Nothing changes the situation: pressing “D”, shifting the paddles, nothing gets the vehicle back in gear. We have video taped these events twice, and provided those videos to our Hyundai Service Center, and to the Hyundai National Consumer Affairs team. They claim that they can’t reproduce it on demand, so they have done NOTHING. We are scared to drive the car. 2) As you start accelerating from a stop, the powertrain will miss the next gear. The engine revs, but you are not in gear, then it will catch a gear and continue to accelerate. These events happen often, but seemingly randomly. After several episodes last year, and no Service Center resolution, we reached out to the Hyundai National Consumer Affairs team, and have continued to be in contact with them, but they have not helped in any way to resolve this. They have assigned numerous Case numbers and Reps, and have emailed me over 20 times instructing me that I should go AGAIN to the Service Center, and then that they have no updates. We are terrified to drive this vehicle, and it is the only one we have. With these issues, we are in danger every time we leave home for our Dr. appointments and necessary trips.

There is an ejection mitigation recall and no remedy from Hyundai in the near future. This sets us up for future injury to my children in the event we are in an accident. This also will result in a lawsuit by us to Hyundai should I or my children are injured or maimed in the event thus vehicle does not properly protect us in an accident. The seat belts are recalled as well and parts are on back order. The solution from Hyundai is to continue to use the defective belts with minor children and hope for the best. This is simply unacceptable.

The safety sensors mounted on the front of the car seem to disable frequetnly. I belive it is the bumper sensors. I read it is a known issue that they disable when it's snowing/raining/mud. I cleaned them off and took a 3 hour drive in clear weather, dry roads. they would disable and then come back on intermittently through the drive.. drive started in day time and ended in the evening. When they are disabled the cruise control will not work and then the car just starts to slowly slow down on the the highway. On the drive back, it was daytime, roads were clear, no inclement weather and it did the same the whole way back. periodally disable and then come back on.

[XXX] old child pulled the seat belt out farther than necessary, creating slack. The seatbelt got twisted and it won't retract into the trim. We tried tugging, trying to unfold the ripple at the trim and We tried folding the belt into a triangle, pushing it back in to re-engage the pulls but it did not work. we now have no seatbelt for the 2nd row passenger side. The belt is extended and will not retract. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The vehicles check engine light has come on. I have had it to the dealership several times. I spent a large amount of money to have the fuel injectors replaced. Not fixed. The dealership has told me they have had 3 others in with the same problem and haven’t been able to fix it. Now my vehicle is out of warranty so I have to pay for all the repairs. I have had to e vehicle stall 4 times now in traffic.

I am reporting a safety concern regarding my 2023 Hyundai Palisade (VIN: [XXX] ). My vehicle is associated with recall-related safety concerns. I have been informed that there is currently no available remedy or timeline to address the issue. This places me in a position where I am expected to continue driving a vehicle that may have a known safety risk, without any resolution available. I do not feel safe transporting my family in this vehicle, and I am concerned about the risk of injury if the issue were to result in a failure while driving. I have attempted to work directly with Hyundai Motor America; however, I have not been provided with a meaningful resolution or alternative option. I was also informed that there is no current fix available. This is not simply an inconvenience—it is a safety concern involving a vehicle that I rely on daily. I am requesting that this complaint be documented and reviewed as part of any ongoing investigation into this issue. My vehicle is subject to Recall 292 (NHTSA 24V-034). Hyundai has admitted in writing that this vehicle violates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 226 because the third-row side curtain airbags fail to meet ejection mitigation requirements. I routinely transport minor children in the third row. Hyundai's official notice confirms this defect increases the risk of injury or death to occupants in this row during a rollover. Despite this life-threatening safety risk and the fact that there is no available remedy, Hyundai National Consumer Affairs (Case #XXX) has denied my request for a repurchase. They are citing the vehicle's mileage as a reason for denial, effectively forcing me to continue transporting my children in a vehicle that is federally non-compliant and admitted to be unsafe in a collision. While entering a roundabout at a slow speed (~5MPH), the electronic power steering on my wife's car failed, almost resulting in an accident with another vehicle, as it suddenly became very difficult to steer. The vehicle's power steering warning indicator turned on, and then the following warning messages appeared on the dashboard: Check Forward/Side Safety system, Check Lane Safety system, Check Lane Following Assist system, and Check Inattentive Driving Warning system. After turning into a nearby parking lot and parking, the vehicle was turned off and then back on, and all warning messages and the power steering warning indicator turned off. My wife was approximately 1 mile from home and decided to try to drive home. After getting back on the road, the same issue occurred again with all indicators and warnings repopulating on the dashboard this time with the vehicle traveling at approximately 35 MPH as she crossed a major intersection. My wife was able to get the car home safely without power steering, and after turning the car off and back on again, all warning messages and indicators turned off again. The next day, 4/30/2026, we contacted our local Hyundai dealer and Hyundai roadside assistance. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it is currently being serviced for this issue. We have not yet received an update on what caused the issue, but we felt it was important to report it to NHTSA because, if it had happened at a higher speed, it could have resulted in a serious accident and possibly serious injury or death of my pregnant wife and child, who was with her in the car at the time. I can provide any and all updates and documentation I receive from the dealer upon request, and the vehicle can possibly be made available for inspection upon request.

Safety Recall 283 - NHTSA Recall 25V607000 This recall is a huge concern, and the problem has not been fixed. It has been months. I have called the Hyundai dealership several times about this needing to be fixed. I have two children. THEY HAVE HAD THEIR SEATBELTS COME UNBUCKLED SEVERAL TIMES NOW!! If we are in any kind of accident, the faulty seatbelts could be the difference between life and death. The dealership has been great; however, they are only getting a few replacements in at a time. I now am having to look into the option of trading in my vehicle and purchasing a new one. I am only about halfway through my loan term which means I am going to be losing money. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED!!!!

Hyundai has refused to correct recall 292 and 283. I do not feel safe driving my children in the third row with the open recall. I have requested a loaner while the recalls are fixed. Since recall 292 has no timeline on repair, I feel Hyundai should issue a buy back.
