I am filing a complaint regarding my 2014 Dodge Dart involving an open recall related to the vehicle's shift cable/park system. On May 29, 2026, I pulled into a parking space and attempted to shift into Reverse to straighten the vehicle. At that point, the vehicle became stuck in Drive and would not shift into Park, Reverse, or Neutral. I was unable to remove the key from the ignition, and the vehicle could not be safely operated. I had to secure the vehicle using the emergency brake and arrange for it to be towed. After contacting Dodge City of McKinney, I was advised to have the vehicle towed to the dealership for inspection. The dealership later informed me that Recall V34 had been completed in 2021 before I owned the vehicle, but that there is now an open A0C recall involving the shift cable/park system. I was advised that the recall remedy and parts are not yet available The dealership inspected the vehicle and documented that the shift cable/grommet is deteriorated. They stated in writing that the vehicle is not roadworthy and provided an estimate of approximately $756.70 to repair the condition. I was advised that I may need to pay for the repair myself and seek reimbursement later because the recall remedy is not yet available. I have opened a case with Stellantis Customer Care and have written documentation from the dealership confirming the vehicle is not roadworthy due to the shift cable condition. My concern is that the vehicle has been deemed unsafe to drive due to a condition involving a system that is currently subject to an open safety recall, yet I am being told to pay out of pocket for repairs while the official recall remedy remains unavailable. I am requesting review of the recall status, clarification of my rights, and assistance in resolving this matter without requiring out-of-pocket payment for a potentially recall-related repair.

Body 2

My transmission shift cable disconnected and prevented me from shifting my vehicle into park which is preventing my vehicle from shifting or my vehicle even being able to start. When calling the recall hotline for Dodge they said that a remedy is not available and there is nothing that they can do to repair it temporarily until a permanent fix is available. This recall has been acti6since October of 2025 but there still is no fix for the issue. So now I am supposed to go without a vehicle for however many more months which is going to cost me my job because I do not have a vehicle that will start or run. Dodge needs to get on this issue ASAP because I cannot afford to wait for a remedy.

Following up on case/tracking number 11734334 with further evidence that my VIN should be included in recall 15V-800. The auto shop investigated why my brake booster failed and it was specifically because of engine oil leaking onto the brake booster.

My Dart is having the exact braking issue that’s included in the 15V-800 (FCA Recall R63) recall, but my VIN isn’t included in the recall. I just had a local shop tell me that the brake booster is the problem. I would like to be reimbursed for the cost that my local shop will be charging to repair it.

Safety Risk A LoP function and/or vehicle movement in an unintended direction can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning and/or injury to others outside the vehicle. No Remedy has been made for this issue. I have been dealing with this issue on my Dart for years.

The vehicle's shifter cable brushing was what was originally recalled. The dealership I visited informed me that the vehicle still has concerns about not being able to recognize when the car is in park. This means the vehicle is still unsafe to drive and a remedy has not yet been released for this. The dealership in question was Sky Dodge in Provo UT.

As I read the above comments/complaints on the 2014 Dodge Dart, I have realized that we all are having the same issues with the recall, the car not engaging in park, and the Keyfob not working properly where it takes from 5-30 minutes to turn the car off because it is still in the acc mode. Now the car has started yet ANOTHER problem that it doesn’t want to start. I paid for a tow to the repair shop and they checked everything out and could find absolutely nothing wrong, no codes showing up, nothing. I had bought a new battery, was about to replace the ignition switch and/or starter but the shop had experience with Dodge 2014 before and the same issues with no apparent issues?? I did pay for another key and fob which wasted $200 because even afterwards the fob wouldn’t release due to the car not going into the park position 100% and I’m still having all these problems. It is definitely a safety issue and we all are left here driving this piece of junk that the manufacturer doesn’t seem to have any answer or as they say “remedy” for the issue. And that’s another thing- we are having ISSUES not an issue. This problem has more involved than the recall and for the amount of people that have submitted a complaint should be an eye opener for the manufacturer - because most people don’t even report it because they don’t know to and the service department is going to get the money! There is and has been something going on with the entire braking, parking, transmission, cable, the last recall my car I was told wasn’t affected however the brakes went out totally without any warning or problem before hand. Said there was fluid or something that messed it up and it cost me $2000 to repair it when the exact issue was going on with the dodge dart 2013-2014 but of course MY CAR was not in that recall even though it had the same problem as the cats which were affected by the recall. I’ll never never purchase another Dodge and would advise anyone else not to purchase one.

I have an open safety recall that has no available fix. My dealership confirmed they cannot repair it and advised me it may be unsafe. Because I cannot safely operate the vehicle, I am requesting a manufacturer buyback or financial assistance toward a replacement vehicle. Please escalate this to a case manager.

In October I brought my car in due to my car not correctly going into park. It almost fully gave out the time the recall started for dodge darts gear shifter, though there were times my car wouldn’t go into park and release the key months before. The shop ran codes that mentioned the ignition switch. They replaced the ignition switch hoping that’d fix the problem, but it didn’t. They brought it to a dodge dealership to have it reprogrammed hoping it’d allow the switch to work. After no success they looked further into the problem and dodge confirmed it was the gear shifting cable. When I called dodge to have them look into it more, they let me know there’s nothing they can do and refused the attempt to fix it, saying there’s no remedy. No other codes were mentioned, other than the ignition switch that was replaced / reconfigured by dodge. Dodge confirmed it was the gear shifter by looking at the part. Due to the shop not knowing what to do, and not being able to fix the problem I haven’t had the best experience with being able to obtain documentation. Their receptionist let me know they deleted the file on my car. Since then I’ve reached out asking for proof of documentation from dodge, and called dodge as well, but haven’t been given the documentation I’ve requested many times.

After parking, I try to put the car into park and it will not go all the way to park. The key fob will not come out of the ignition, so the battery is still being used with the dashboard lights on. No alert or alarm lights show an issue. This has occurred MANY times. Finally, after waiting from 5-45 minutes, you can hear a click in the front area (gear area) and then I can turn the switch completely to off and remove the Key fob. I went to a repair shop and they scanned for problems/codes on the reader. But nothing shows up. Thinking it may be the fob itself, I had the locksmith come and replace the fob and program it. It still continues to be an issue. Not every time I drive, but enough that it has been a safety concern as well if I’m away from home. There have also been many times that after cranking the car, disengaging the emergency brake and then placing it in reverse, the car tries to go into reverse direction like the gas pedal is being pressed and if my foot isn’t on the brake, it will quickly back up without even touching the gas pedal.?? But I do have my foot applied to the brake pedal. I’m unsure if this is related to the recall for the brake cable thing that’s in effect now (without a remedy and awaiting notification from Dodge for repair). I do however feel that it is a safety issue. As it is an ongoing problem.

The shift cable became disconnected from my vehicle with no prior warning while I was driving through a parking lot. The car would not move into park, or any other shift as it was stuck in reverse, and since it would not move into park, the car would not turn off, causing danger for every passenger in the car. All of our safety was at risk. We had to have the car towed to a firestone, where they were able to replace the shift cable, for the car to start working properly again. Just 2 days later, I received a recall notice in the mail, in regards to this very feature- the shift cable- disconnecting and causing the car to be stuck in motion in one direction. Exactly what happened to my car, and what I had just paid out of pocket to fix. I submitted this invoice and receipt for reimbursement, as a part was fixed which is inked to the recall, before I even knew there was a recall. Upon contacting Dodge, they simply stated they will not reimburse me since there is no remedy to the recall. Not reimbursing a customer who's life was at risk due to the recall, and had to fix the issue out of emergency, is inexcusable. I should not have to wait for a 'remedy' to be provided when I already paid out of pocket to have it fixed.
