VEHICLE WILL NOT GO OVER 40MPH WITH OVERDRIVE SOMETHING SEEMS TO BE WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION UNKOWN REASON WHY?
I OWN A 2006 FORD F-150 4X4 PICKUP. TWO WEEKS AGO THE SPEED ODOMETER WENT CRAZY, IT STARTED OUT STICKING AT 10 MPH AND MOVED ALL THE WAY OVER TO 120+ AND SOMETIMES DROPS TO THE 40 MPH AREA AND THEN RIGHT BACK UP TO THE 120 MPH ZONE. I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS TRUCK OVER 75 MPH...EVER. I CHECKED FOR A CABLE MALFUNCTION BUT I FOUND OUT THERE IS NO CABLE, ITS ELECTRONIC.THIS TRUCK HAS 144,000 MILES WHAT IS GOING ON WITH FORD THESE DAYS? IS THERE A RECALL ON SOMETHING? HOW DO YOU FIX THIS? I HAVE ALREADY CHANGED ALL 8 COIL PACKS ON THIS TRUCK FOR AN UNRELATED PROBLEM WITH IGNITION. I HEAR THE SPARK PLUGS ARE A PAIN ALSO. ALL I KNOW NOW WHEN I DRIVE THIS TRUCK THERE IS NO WAY TO TELL HOW FAST I AM GOING. I JUST JUDGE MY SPEED BY HOW FAST EVERYBODY ELSE IS GOING. I AM UNABLE TO PUT FUEL INTO MY VAN WITHOUT HAVING GAS SPILLED ON ME OR MY VAN. AFTER I START TRYING TO FILL TANK, THE FUEL TANK CAN BE COMPLETELY EMPTY, AND STILL HAVE FUEL SPILLED ALL OVER. I HAVE TO STAND THERE PUTTING FUEL IN AS SLOW AS POSSIBLE AND THIS CAN TAKE UP TO AND EVEN MORE THEN 30 MINUTES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD E-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY AND HESITATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY AND MOTOR ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE SAME FAILURE THREE TIMES BUT THE FAILURE WAS RECURRING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,373.
PARKING OUR BOAT TRAILER AT THE LAKE AND ROLLED THE WINDOW DOWN HEARD A WEIRD CRUNCHING NOISE SO I ROLLED BACK UP AND THEN IT JUST SLID DOWN ALL BY ITSELF AND HAD TO LEAVE OUR F-150 UNLOCKED AT THE LAKE AND WORRY THE WHOLE TIME WHILE WE WERE ON OUR BOAT EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR BOUGHT THE PART TODAY 173.73 AND THAT IS PUTTING IN OUR SELVES I HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS AND FORD ACTED LIKE IT NEVER HAPPENS THEY NEED CHECK IN TO THIS PROBLEM YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO REPLACE A WINDOW REGULATOR IN A 2006 VEHICLE. MY COWORKERS SUPERVISOR AND I HAVE COMPLAINED MULTIPLE TIMES TO OUR SUPERVISOR BUT HE SAID TO JUST DEAL WITH IT BECAUSE HE HAS NO OTHER VANS AVAILABLE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD E-150. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH AND DEPRESSING THE BRAKES WHEN HE NOTICED AN INCREASE IN STOPPING DISTANCE AND TIME. INTERMITTENTLY, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS ABLE TO BE DEPRESSED INTO THE FLOORBOARD ABNORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT HAD FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 108,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD E-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A DEFECT INSIDE OF THE ENGINE THAT CAUSED THE ENGINE TO BLOW UP. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER DENIED ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIR. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 28,500. MY FORD E150, ECONO VAN CAME TO A SUDDEN STALL WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON HIGH WAY. ONCE IT GOT STALLED, I L DON'T HAVE STEERING, POWER AND BRAKE CONTROL. THE VAN WON'T START AND WON'T STAY IDLE. OR RUNNING, BUT AFTER LIKE 20 TIMES TRYING TO RESTART THE CAR, IT STARTED RUNNING AGAIN LIKE NORMAL. THE SUDDEN STALLING HAPPENS MORE OFTEN WHEN I WAS TRYING TO MAKE TURNS. EACH TIME THE ENGINE STOPS, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, CHECK TOOL LIGHT, AND CHECK GAUGE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT SERVICED, THEY REPLACED THE AIR FLOW SENSORS AND CLEANED THE ENGINE,...COSTS ABOUT $1,000.00 IN LESS THAN A WEEK, THE VAN SUDDENLY STALLS AGAIN. I ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT WITH ON COMING CAR WHILE I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN. AGAIN, I HAVE NO STEERING CONTROL AND BRAKING POWER. I TOOK THE VAN BACK TO THE DEALER, AND THEY REPLACED THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY. TOTAL REPLACEMENT OF ABOUT $500.00 THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED SO FAR, BUT IT WAS DEFINITELY A VERY SCARY EXPERIENCE FOR ME. THIS HAPPENED WHEN THE CAR HAS LESS THAN 4 YEARS OLD AND LESS THAN 47,000 MILES. IT IS VERY HARD FOR ME TO OVER COME THE SAFETY CONCERN OF THE CAR EACH TIME I STEPPED INTO THIS VAN. *TR
THE THROTTLE ON MY 2006 FORD VAN BEGAN STICKING AT APPROX. 55,000 MILES. THIS IS NOT A PEDAL ISSUE, IT WAS THE THROTTLE BUTTERFLY ITSELF THAT WAS STICKING. THE PROBLEM RESULTED IN EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE AND FINALLY FORCED ME TO RUN A RED LIGHT, BUT DID NOT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT (FOR ME) IT WOULD ALSO CAUSE THE VAN TO REV UP VERY HIGH WHEN FIRST STARTED, EVEN WHEN NO GAS HAD BEEN APPLIED. YOU ALSO HAD TO HOLD YOUR FOOT VERY FIRMLY ON THE BRAKE AT A STOP, OR THE VEHICLE WOULD ACCELERATE TO APPROX. 40 MPH. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER REPEATEDLY (CITY FORD IN CARTERSVILLE GA) AND ARGUED WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER ALL THE WAY UP TO THE OWNER OF THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY REFUSED TO FIX IT BECAUSE THEY CONSIDERED IT NORMAL WEAR. A STICKING THROTTLE, PARTICULARLY ON A VEHICLE WHICH USES ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL, VS A CABLE SHOULD NEVER BE "NORMAL". I ARGUED THE ISSUE REPEATEDLY WITH THE DEALER AND ALSO WITH THE FORD ZONE MANAGER, BUT FINALLY, FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY, I WAS FORCED TO PURCHASE A REPLACEMENT THROTTLE ASSEMBLY AND SWAP IT OUT AT MY OWN COST ($150). *TR
DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW HAS ROLLED DOWN AND WILL GO BACK UP AGAIN. THIS ITEM WAS FIXED UNDER WARRANTY AND HAS FAILED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND ONLY 27,000 MILES ON IT. THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR AND SEEMS TO BE A COMMON COMPLAINT. *TR
THROTTLE STICKS AND DOES NOT FULLY RETURN TO IDLE. MUST RIDE THE BRAKES VERY HARD TO STOP PROPERLY. HOVE NOT CRASHED, BUT HAVE HAD NEAR MISSES. DEALER ADDRESSED ONCE WHILE UNDER WARRANTY, BUT WILL NOT ADDRESS REPEATED PROBLEMS, NOW THAT WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED, WITHOUT CHARGING $80 DIAGNOSTIC FEE + REPAIRS. SECOND ISSUE.... SIDE DOOR FAILS TO LATCH PROPERLY AT THE TOP. I AM AFRAID IT MAY FLY OPEN IN A CRASH. DEALER HAS WORKED ON IT 5 TIMES AND IT STILL DOES NOT CLOSE PROPERLY. REFUSES TO WARRANT IT NOW. *TR
A 2006, FORD F150, CREW CAB P/UP , CAUGHT FIRE AND BURNED. THE VEHICLE HAD APPROXIMATELY 9,000.00 MILES ON THE ODOMETER AND WAS BOUGHT NEW. NO REPAIRS WERE DONE AND NOTHING ALTERED ON THIS VEHICLE PRIOR TO IT BURNING. AT THE TIME OF THE FIRE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN MCDONALD"S PARKING LOT. *TR

ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE BRAKING MY FOOT MADE CONTACT WITH THE ACCELERATION PEDAL INSTEAD OF STOPPING THE TRUCK ACCELERATED AND ALMOST CAUSED A COLLISION. THE LAST OCCURRENCE PUT ME THROUGH AN INTERSECTION WHERE I BARLEY AVOIDED A SIDE IMPACT COLLISION. THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL EXCEEDS THE LEVEL AT WHICH MY FOOT CAN MAKE CONTACT WITH THE GAS PEDAL. MY TRUCK HAS LESS THAN 20,000 MILES, THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES. *AK
I JUST PURCHASED A 2006 F-150 ON SEPT.17,2006 AND WHILE DRIVING ON NOV.25,2006 IT LOCKED UP ALMOST CAUSING A REAR END CRASH.
