I heard a load pop noise and then smelled almost a burnt type smell. The next day my driver side seatbelt is completely locked. I’ve tried all my ford dealership close to me and I’ve called multiple customer service no one is willing to help me.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact received a notification for NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V344000 (SEAT BELTS); however, the part to complete the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the seat belt warning light illuminated, and an abnormal loud sound emanated from the vehicle. The contact then noticed that the front passenger-side seat belt pretensioner had exploded without impact, releasing smoke inside the vehicle. Several dealers were contacted, but the dealers informed the contact that the parts were unavailable. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that parts would not be available until September. The failure mileage was unavailable.
The airbag warning light illuminated on my 2019 Ford Expedition. My Ford dealer diagnosed the vehicle and confirmed that the condition is related to an active Ford safety recall. The dealer also confirmed that the defect disables the entire Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), meaning the airbags will not deploy in the event of a collision. I was informed that the recall replacement part will not be available until approximately December 2026 and that Ford will not authorize an interim repair or replacement using available parts. As a result, I am expected to continue driving a vehicle with a disabled airbag system for several months despite the known safety defect. The dealer advised that if I choose to have the vehicle diagnosed or repaired before the recall remedy becomes available, I must pay the costs myself and may only be eligible for reimbursement if Ford later authorizes it. This defect significantly increases the risk of serious injury or death because the airbags will not deploy in a crash. I am filing this complaint because a manufacturer should not leave owners without a functioning airbag system for months while waiting for recall parts.
When merging onto the unnerstate i accerlerated about 50-60% throttle and when i did it clunked hard and dropped from 8th gear to neutral and left me coasting down the innerstate for 30 seconds with my child in the car before the transmission would re engage. I feel that this is a very unsafe issue that should be fixed by Ford since it could put me and my family and others in a loss of control situation that could cause harm.
The manufacturer Ford issued three urgent safety recalls in May/June 2026, including recall #26S48 for transmission parking system failure and recall #26S34 for front seatbelt failures. The official status from Ford is 'Remedy Not Yet Available' and I was notified that parts might not be available until late 2026 or 2027. This vehicle is my essential tool for rideshare work (Uber/Lyft). Due to federal transportation safety regulations and Uber policies, I am legally prohibited from transporting passengers with active, unremedied safety recalls. This has completely destroyed my family's financial livelihood. Furthermore, driving this vehicle puts my life, my passengers, and my 4 children at an imminent risk of death or catastrophic injury due to potential transmission failure while driving or seatbelt failure during an accident. The manufacturer and the dealer (Findlay Chevrolet) are failing to provide a remedy within a reasonable timeframe under federal warranty laws, leaving me with a $38,000 active debt for an un-driveable, dangerous asset. I am requesting an official investigation to force a manufacturer buyback.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V402000 (Power Train). The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at speeds over 40 MPH, the vehicle lost automotive power. While the transmission was shifting gear, there was an abnormal metal clanking sound coming from the vehicle. The check engine warning light and other unknown warning lights were illuminated, and the message "See Service Manual" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the residence and then to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. An unknown code indicating that the transmission was stuck in park(P) was displayed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
On XXX, while driving my 2019 Ford Expedition (VIN: [XXX]) on the highway, the front passenger seatbelt retractor pretensioner spontaneously deployed with a loud explosion and smoke. There was no accident, no impact, and no erratic driving. The seatbelt is now completely locked and unusable, and the entire SRS/Airbag system is disabled with a hard fault light on the dash. My vehicle is covered under the newly expanded Safety Recall 26S34 / NHTSA Campaign 26V344. I immediately visited an authorized Ford dealership (Covert Ford) seeking an interim repair or a safe loaner vehicle. The dealer refused to help, stated that the parts are unavailable, and handed me an internal printout stating that the FSA program is paused (Recall 24S06 Supplement #1). Ford and the dealership are forcing me to drive an unsafe vehicle with a compromised restraint system and disabled airbags, putting my family at extreme risk because they do not have a remedy or interim solution available. I am requesting immediate federal intervention to hold Ford accountable and compel them to provide a safe rental/loaner vehicle until the final recall remedy parts are available. When trying to pass a vehicle between approximately 40-50 mph, transmission slips out of gear, engine revs, lack of acceleration and a light gear grinding sound followed by a loud bang is heard, vehicle regains gear. Occasionally a 'transmission fault' message appears but does not set a OBD2 code. We understand this is likely related to the CDF Drum
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while unbuckling the passenger’s side seat belt, the assembly deployed forcefully and struck the contact in the stomach. Following the retraction, white smoke was coming from the top of the seat belt assembly by the B-pillar. The contact experienced abdominal pain for several days but did not seek medical attention. An independent body shop inspected the vehicle and provided a repair estimate. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V099000 (Seat Belts); however, the part for the recall repair was unavailable. The dealer and the manufacturer confirmed that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer informed the contact that the vehicle must be repaired by an authorized Ford dealer to qualify for a reimbursement. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact received notification of NTHSA Campaign Number: 26V402000 (Power Train); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was not contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated that after shifting to park(P), the vehicle rolled unexpectedly. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 79,800.
My 2019 Ford Expedition (VIN: [XXX]) has been diagnosed by a Ford dealer with a cam phaser defect covered under Ford Customer Satisfaction Program 21N03. My vehicle falls within the covered build date range. Ford corporate has acknowledged the issue and offered partial repair coverage, but is asking me to pay approximately $2,600 toward a repair for a known manufacturing defect. The engine has exhibited rattling/knocking consistent with cam phaser failure. I am requesting NHTSA investigate whether Ford's remediation program has been adequate and whether a formal recall is warranted. Recall 26S28 As I put my hand in the center console and took it out it was cut by the trimming. I than had to stop as I felt and noticed blood was dripping off my hand. The following day I seen the recall not ice in the mail and that there is no repair available yet.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while the contact's husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. In addition, the transmission shifted unusually rough. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed catalyst converter. The contact was informed that the catalyst converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the transmission was replaced in November 2025. The contact referenced a manufacturer's recall 24E13. However, the contact's VIN was not associated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline and report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.
- The Cam Phasers are failing. The dealer on my last visit said that the engine makes a rattle, and the Cam Phasers are the issue. It's apparently a wide spread issue with this year of vehicle. I wasn't aware previously. - The dealer said that the issue persisting will introduce debris into the engine resulting in failure. - The Ford Dealer service brought this to my attention. - The component issue is known by Ford, but they have never issued a recall. - No warning lamps, no messages. I as a car owner wouldn't know an issue was existing. The dealer service department brought it to my attention when I had my car in for another Service.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while slowing down and pulling into the driveway at 25 MPH, the passenger’s side air bag suddenly deployed without warning or impact. The seat belt struck the contact’s wife on the right arm and wrist, and she sustained bruises; however, medical attention was not provided. The local dealer was contacted and informed about NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V344000 (Seat Belts) and 24V099000 (Seat Belts). A loaner vehicle was initially provided, but the dealer informed the contact that the loaner was his responsibility. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired due to parts being on back order. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
In early 2022 I was going to retrieve my wallet from the console area of my wife's 2019 Ford Expedition when thumb was lacerated by something on the vehicle. I was unable to find what exactly had cut my thumb. A few months later on June 7, 2022 my wife was injured when her hand was lacerated by a sharp piece of chrome trim in the console area of the same vehicle. The injury to her hand was much worse than mine and resulted in a significant scar. I have attached pictures of the injury and a picture taken of the chrome piece that lacerated her hand along with a picture today of the scar left behind. I made an appointment at the Ford dealership back in 2022 to have the piece fixed but I can't remember if they replaced the part or simply cut the chrome piece off. We traded that expedition off on January 28, 2023. We currently have a 2024 expedition so we received a recall notification in the mail, I wanted to make sure NHTSA was aware of our injuries in relation to this recall.
As I was driving down the road, my passenger seatbelt popped and exploded, filling my car with smoke. My son yelled fire although I didn’t see a flame. My passenger seatbelt is no longer functioning. Leaving me with one less seat in my car. Ford refuses to fix or give a loaner
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was a loud chattering sound coming from the engine before the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the cam phasers and the vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred. Additionally, the A/C failed to blow cool air due to a condenser failure. During the failure, the windows failed to properly defrost, causing a visibility hazard. The vehicle also experienced hard shifting and a shift fault code message was displayed. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 40,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V099000 (Seat Belts); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the dealer sent a mobile mechanic to place of employment to inspect the vehicle and the contact was informed that the seat belts were in proper working order. Recently while attempting to park the vehicle, there was a loud booming sound coming from the vehicle. The contact discovered that the front passenger's side seat belt retractor pretensioner had unexpectedly deployed. The contact stated that 30 minutes after the failure, there was an abnormal burning sulfur odor coming from the vehicle. The contact called the dealer, and a mobile mechanic arrived to inspect the vehicle. The mechanic advised the contact to drive the vehicle to the dealer for additional inspection. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it remained. The contact was later informed that a second recall, NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V344000 (Seat Belts), was added to the VIN and that parts for the recall repairs were unavailable. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.
Middle row right side and middle row left side seat seatbelt retractor pretensioners are malfunctioning and causing the seat belts to lock up while the vehicle is in and driving. I have received alerts on my ford pass for this issue as well. As well as the front passenger and driver side.
