Hello, I am writing regarding the fuel pump power control module failure in my 2022 Chevrolet Equinox LT. On Thursday, XXX, my husband and I were left stranded at the intersection of [XXX]. While we were sitting at the intersection, my Equinox began to hesitate and then stopped completely. Although we could restart the vehicle, it would immediately shut off again. We had our emergency flashers on, but vehicles behind us continued honking whenever the light turned green. Being stranded in the middle of a busy highway was both humiliating and frightening. VIN: [XXX] After waiting approximately 1½ hours, a tow truck arrived and towed our vehicle to [XXX]. I was subsequently required to pay for both a new fuel pump control module and a new fuel pump. The total cost was $1,237.34. I understand that General Motors issued Safety Recall N222372310 / NHTSA Recall 23V013000 involving certain 2021–2022 Chevrolet Equinox vehicles due to a fuel pump module that may not consistently supply sufficient fuel, potentially causing the engine to stall. I contacted two Chevrolet dealerships—one in [XXX] and one in [XXX]—and was told by both that this recall does not apply to my vehicle. I want to understand how the affected vehicles are determined and why my Equinox is not included, particularly given that my vehicle experienced a fuel-related failure that resulted in the vehicle stalling while I was idling. My vehicle had only 44,000 miles when this failure occurred. I do not believe a fuel pump module should fail at this mileage, particularly when the failure created a significant safety hazard and left my husband and me stranded in an active roadway. I am requesting that General Motors review my vehicle's VIN, the circumstances surrounding this failure, and the repair records and reimburse me for the $1,237.34 I was required to pay. While driving down the road, the car started sptting and spittering and eventually died in the middle of the road. Check engine light did come on. We were able to limp the car to the closest repair shop and they ran a diagnosis. The low pressure fuel pump and the fuel control module had to be replaced. Resulting in a bill of 1164.39. Some 2021 and 2022 equinox has a recall for this same exact problem. GM Safety Recall N222372310 (NHTSA 23V-013) After the removal of the old fuel pump, the part number was checked with the recall and it did not match what was recalled. Old P/N 813026069. Part is on hand until a final resolution by GM. Repair invoice available upon request. This problem is a safety issue and could cause an accident and or bodily injury.

Fuel pump control module.Crank no start. Service engine soon light. U18A2 code sent to Onstar. Inspected and confirmed by dealer. Vehicle is currently sitting at dealer that I purchased it from and out of service until repaired.

The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, and the fuel pump control module was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure by phone and advised the contact to report the failure to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was 15,728.

I had no issues with my car before taking it in for the fuel pump module safety recall. The next morning after they installed it at Malcolm Cunningham Chevrolet, the engine died in the middle of the road. it started slowing down and the more I pressed the gas the slower it went until it stopped while the engine shook then it died. I could restart it, but then it would shake again and die within 15 seconds. I tried a third time and it began to drive again. I took it back the next day and they said it was a low battery. I changed the battery and it died again the following day. This has since happened 5x! It is back at Malcolm Cunningham Chevrolet and they are trying to tell me it has nothing to do with the fuel pump yet they do not know what the problem is!

The vehicle experienced the failure a second time and was then parked on the side of the road. After shifting to park(P) the vehicle shut off and failed to restart. The vehicle was later towed to a nearby storage facility. AAA later examined the vehicle and determined that the fuel pump module had failed and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V013000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). vehicle has 19000 miles on it. While driving, the engine died in traffic. I was sent a code from on-star of P129F. I had the suv towed by AAA to the nearest Chevy dealer and had to get a hotel. After researching, I discovered that this is a common problem with a multitude of GM vehicles whereas the control module for the fuel pump has a known failure issue. The module is an FPDCM module. The issue is so frequent that GM has a service bulletin 24-NA-139 and yet there is no recall. My suv has been serviced by Chevy dealerships over 4 times since purchasing new and this module should have been replaced before I was put in a potentially dangerous position. A recall needs to be issued immediately.

The vacuum pump of the vehicle has failed four different times now, needing replaced each time, causing the “service brake assist” light to come on and the brakes to be really incredibly hard to press. Each time, it has been at highway speeds, and has made it extremely unsafe due to making it so hard to stop the vehicle. The first time it happened was in July of 2024 at 72,000 miles, again in October of 2024 at 80,000 miles, again in May of 2026 at 112,000 miles, and most recently in September of 2026 at 118,000 miles.

Once reaching around 50,000-60,000 miles, I began to experience a tremble/shudder sensation when driving between 35-45mph and the vehicle would appear to be on either 2nd or 3rd gear (usually under stress going up a hill). Mentioned to 2 different dealers but denied it being the transmission, both claiming because they never heard of Transmission issues with the Equinox. They ruled it as a PCV issue or balancing issue. After replacing the PCV and valve cover gasket as well as checking the balancing, the issues continued with no resolution. Even had the transmission fluid exchanged but no resolution. Now the shudder has intensified at times where it can feel very aggressive, feeling as if the transmission will give out or the Equinox will stall out entirely. I've searched online and numerous blogs have reported a known "Transmission Shudder" where some dealers, while under manufacturer warranty and extended warranty, were replacing the entire transmission or the Torque Converter Clutch which ended up resolving the issue. Now out of warranty, my Equinox as well as others reported online, the shudder continues.

Car sputtered and stalled when starting for work, but then started, I kept it running while I dropped my daughter off at school and went to work. Car sputtered and would not start, leaving me stuck at work. After attempting to start a few times, my check engine light came on. Then received an email saying my car had a critical safety issue from OnStar. Had to wait over an hour for a tow to the Chevy Dealer. Waited another 6 days for it to be looked at. It was a faulty fuel pump modulator, which was recalled for some VINs but not mine. If it stalled while I was driving, it would've caused a wreck.

-The fuel pump control module fails. The dealer replaced the part and I don't have it for inspection. -Car dies while driving and will not restart. Stranded alongside the road with traffic and requires the vehicle to be towed. Quick response required to get pulled off the road before it is immoveable. The first time that it failed I was in a no reception zone and had to walk to get reception to call for help. -Yes, when at the dealership the vehicle failed and confirmed that it was the fuel pump control module. This problem has happened on 3 different accounts. A dealership in Washington state replaced the control module twice and a different dealership in the state of Iowa. The first failure was 2/26/2023 and towed to a dealership on 2/27/2023. The second failure was on 1/10/2024. The most recent failure was on 8/6/2026 and towed on 8/7/2026 to the dealership. -The vehicle has not been inspected by manufacturer, police or insurance. -A warning light service engine came on moments before the car died. It appears that there is a recall N252516900 that my VIN doesn't fall into that I believe covers the same issues I have been seeing.

Was driving down road and car died no warning never happened before ,took it to dealership they put on diagnostic machine,the problem was fuel pump driver control module said they have replaced quite a few also said new part has been redesigned so it doesn't happen again.I kept the part. The danger was I was driving down highway and car died

The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH and making a sharp right turn, the vehicle lost automotive power and stalled in the middle of the road. The vehicle failed to restart, and a tow truck was called to the scene. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer, and the vehicle was diagnosed and determined that the fuel pump pressure control module and coolant hoses had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 12,300.

While driving, the car began stalling, and the info window said to shift to "neutral" and restart the vehicle. Attempted this, and the car just stopped in the middle of the street, unable to move it to the side. The info window started saying "no fuel" and I was unable to restart the car to move it off the street. Had to call my local mechanic since there is no Chevy dealership in my area. The car was towed to the shop, and diagnosed with the "Fuel pump power control module" failure. The part was replaced, and the mechanic was still unable to get the car to register fuel in the gas tank. They took it to the closest dealership, and the dealership also was unable to clear the codes and sync it. At this point, the mechanic put the old part back on, and the car still wouldn't start. The mechanic ordered yet another fuel pump power control module, and this time the car would sync and register the gas in the car. As of today, the car is running. While accelerating in traffic, the car suddenly lost engine power. (Stalled). After several tries to restart, the vehicle had to be towed to the dealership for repair. The fuel pump control module was replaced.

I was driving in town at normal speed getting on entrance ramp to XXX in [XXX]. As I made my turn the car engine stopped working. I pulled over to the side of the ramp. The car would not start. I called a tow truck and had it taken to my mechanic. He diagnosed it as a failed fuel pump module. He also said that this car had been recalled in 2023 and the fuel pump module replaced.
