2022 Chevrolet Equinox

While driving, the car began stalling, and the info window said to shift to "neutral" and restart the vehicle. Attempted this, and the car just stopped in the middle of the street, unable to move it to the side. The info window started saying "no fuel" and I was unable to restart the car to move it off the street. Had to call my local mechanic since there is no Chevy dealership in my area. The car was towed to the shop, and diagnosed with the "Fuel pump power control module" failure. The part was replaced, and the mechanic was still unable to get the car to register fuel in the gas tank. They took it to the closest dealership, and the dealership also was unable to clear the codes and sync it. At this point, the mechanic put the old part back on, and the car still wouldn't start. The mechanic ordered yet another fuel pump power control module, and this time the car would sync and register the gas in the car. As of today, the car is running. While accelerating in traffic, the car suddenly lost engine power. (Stalled). After several tries to restart, the vehicle had to be towed to the dealership for repair. The fuel pump control module was replaced.

While driving, vehicle lunged forward and engine shut off. Dashboard stated to put in neutral and restart. Pushed automatic start and it clicked for approximately 20 seconds before engine started. Put vehicle in drive and pressed on gas and engine shut off. Put vehicle in park and tried to start again with clicking lasting 20-30 seconds before stopping. Had to have vehicle towed to Chevy Dealership for diagnostic and repair. The fuel pump control module had to be replaced. This was a recall for 2021-2022 Equinox. The VIN did not pull up for this recall and I am asking for reimbursement.

Power loss at such speeds put my family in dangerous situations each time. Scottsdale dealers would not make it a priority so I had to get it back to Yuma. Dealer is making me responsible for bill due to being out of my bumper to bumper regardless of the low mileage. Urged against goodwill warranty exception and given no loaner vehicle. Had the vehicle towed to local dealership.

I had to pay out of pocket for an emergency replacement of the fuel pump module to make the vehicle operational again. This vehicle is experiencing the exact component failure and identical symptoms described in GM Safety Recall N222372310 (NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V013000) for Inadequate Fuel Pump Flow. However, General Motors is currently refusing to cover or reimburse this repair, claiming that my specific VIN is not included in their narrow recall database. Since this identical engineering defect causes sudden vehicle immobilization while in motion and creates a severe risk of highway collisions, I am filing this safety complaint to request that the NHTSA investigate and compel General Motors to expand the scope of Recall N222372310 to include all affected 2022 Equinox vehicles sharing this defective fuel pump design. I have the official diagnostic invoice and proof of payment available for verification.

Traveling far from home, car suddenly made a rattling noise and engine shut down. Pulled over for a tow. After 2 weeks in a shop, it was determined the fuel pump was defective causing the camshaft to break. Our VIN is not under the recall but the damage was massive. GM refused to admit to pump failure / camshaft defect. Took parts to be inspected also to the dealership and they confirmed. There were no warnings. We were on a major highway traveling at 70 mph when this happened, yes this was a dangerous situation to be in. GM refused to listen to my case that I filed as I stated we have the "right to repair" and took it to the nearest shop. They closed my case with no opportunity to move forward in the customer service world. We had to pay 4900.00 for repair, 214.00 to tow, 1700.00 for a rental car and all they offered were 1000 GM point that converted to 10.00.

The vehicle remained unrepaired in the dealer's possession. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

I brought my daughter home from work car was working fine we went to leave about an hour later the car would turn over for a second then die my husband checked it and The P129F diagnostic trouble code is what popped up that is specific to GM Motors so that's what's wrong there were no warning signs and safety is necessarily at risk but I need a car to provide for my family

Known issue of arabic language reset on engine start with this make/model infotainment system. (TSB 23-NA-118 / 23-NA-042). Causes language and user errors upon startup and causes the rear backup camera to not engage properly every time, creating a safety issue when reversing. With the user’s language not saving, it creates a safety issue because the warnings are in a language that the user cannot understand on startup.

I contacted GM customer support and even after acknowledging the issue but stated it wasnt for our vehicle even though it was the same part and year.

While operating our vehicle on traveling at approx. 45 mph during mid-day traffic, the engine on our vehicle died and would not restart. we had no power steering and had to wrestle the vehicle off the road The check engine light was on and we tried repeatedly to restart the engine without any luck. We had the vehicle towed to the dealership for diagnosis and repair, it was determined that a Fuel Pump Power Control Module had failed and that it would cost $599. to repair. We approved the repairs and then approached GM for reimbursement after discovering that this same part was recalled by GM Ref # N252516900 which covered the make, model and year of our vehicle. We contacted GM customer relations and after speaking with them multiple times they approved a partial adjustment on the bill for approximately $150. I explained that according to their campaign notice and ongoing issues with this component we wanted a full refund and would not accept a partial payment of 1/3 our cost. GM refuses to stand behind their product even though our vehicle only has 27,500 miles. I spoke with the service manager at the dealership, and he suggested I contact GM customer service and they should resolve the problem since this was an ongoing issue.
