Brakes 2

While driving at about the speed of 45 miles/hr. the car abruptly braked in the middle of the road without any vehicle or object in front of me. It was a scary situation because if there had been a car behind me, my car would have been rear-ended. This problem has neither been reproduced nor investigated by anyone. I have, in the past, noticed that occasionally the brake light on the dashboard would flash for a second and go off but did not affect motion or speed. I have not received any warning messages regarding the vehicle's brakes.

Engine 2

Vehicle is a 2019 Honda CR-V (1.5L Turbo) experiencing an active internal mechanical failure—suspected collapsing/sticking piston rings bypassing the combustion chamber, resulting in severe, unmeasured oil consumption. The dealership (Wesley Chapel Honda) filled the engine with new oil and refuses to perform an internal diagnostic teardown or provide a safe alternative vehicle. Instead, they are advising me to operate this vehicle for an additional 2,000 miles to complete a corporate "consumption test" to prove the defect for warranty authorization. Operating a vehicle with a known, rapid, and erratic oil depletion defect for thousands of miles presents a severe, immediate safety hazard to my family and others on the road. If the engine oil drops below critical operating levels unexpectedly between manual checks, the engine faces an immediate risk of catastrophic metal-on-metal friction, thermal expansion, and sudden engine seizure at highway speeds. This creates an extreme driving liability, including an instantaneous loss of all motive power, a sudden loss of vital power steering and power braking assist (making the vehicle incredibly heavy and difficult to control or maneuver safely to a shoulder), and a high risk of an engine bay fire due to intense friction and fluid ignition. This is a known issue that I presented to them in March. At that time the PCV valve was replaced along with new spark plugs. The problem continues to persist. This matter is actively documented with Honda Corporate under Case #16466779. A manufacturer protocol should not supersede passenger safety by forcing the prolonged operation of a defective vehicle. The dealership has advised that this is a known issue with the 2019 Honda CRV with piston rings failing. This needs to be made public and a recall for Honda to fix.

At approximately 50 mph the steering sticks and is not smooth. Driver must maintain center by controlling the wheel as it feels stiff then clicks. Safety concern.

2019 Honda CRV steering problem -- steering binding at highway speeds; ratcheting feeling. Possibly worm gear spring defect. I must constantly tug at my steering wheel to keep the SUV in my lane at speeds over 50 mph. I've mentioned this to my dealer two times now and they don't seem to know about the problem. There is a recall for this on other Honda models -- why hasn't a recall been announced for the 2019 CRV???

The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while attempting to make a left or right turn, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver. Neither the dealer nor an independent was contacted. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V744000 (STEERING). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was 75,000.

Honda Dealer Diagnosed the issue with the Body control module failure, reached out to Honda for good will assistance ... after 10 days they were able to cover 50% of the repair cost. Remaining repair balance was paid out of pocket.

The car gave a "Emissions System Problem" warning while on a roadtrip on June 4, 2026. The code was P219F. Subsequently (a week or so later), every warning on the car came up for every system (too many to list here). My mechanic has gone through the Honda protocol for this code (checking spark plugs, compression tests, etc) and is now at the point of replacing all of the fuel injectors. The car is very well-maintained and has low mileage (less than 50,000 miles). The car is currently in the shop as I can't drive it safely without knowing what systems are malfunctioning. The car is available for inspection and is currently at an independent service center.

Flashing through brightness settings by itself, low through dark and runs in loop whenever sunlight hits it directly. It looks like the auto dimming is getting crazy when sunlight hits directly. Reported issue with Honda. They issued a service bulletin (19-066) to the dealers to update the radio software if cars are still on warranty. However no recall was issued and customers have to pay dealers to get it updated for a manufactures defect.

The highly documented sticky steering issue has caused multiple dangerous issues of steering overcorrection on 2 lane highways in rural Arkansas and Missouri where I live. Seems worse on returning to straight ahead from a slight left curve. It makes my very nervous to drive and the dealer ignored it for years saying it was probably a knocked loose sensor. Estimated cost of out of warranty repair for the some issue the latest models have a recall on is about $5000. I cannot afford this and makes me tend to drive this vehicle in a dangerous condition.

Sudden braking. Car in front at a safe distance, car behind me and a car was in other lane (driving opposite direction) maybe 20-30 ft away. Car braked on its own with “brake” flashed on dash. Car fishtailed but I was able to gain control after a second or two. Occurred5:20pm on 6-18-26. Occurred one other time about 15-18 months earlier. Another incident occurred on 6-30-26 around 2:30 pm on clear day on divided highway with no one close in front of me. Flashed “brake” warning but did not brake.

The steering sticks, i.e. binds, when centered and requires excessive force to move it off center. The force/movement required to "unstick" the steering could inadvertently cause a lane or possibly a roadway departure as well as a crash into another vehicle. This issue, and its cause, have been diagnosed by Honda of San Marcos (Texas): "Verified concern, found internal failure in the power steering rack, Technician found power steering gear binding when turning" by technician Keith Arche.

When driving my 2019 Honda CRV it is very difficult to drive at speeds 55 or higher. The steering frequently becomes stiff, jerky and notching feeling requiring both hands be on the steering wheel at all times. It is exhausing and feels unsafe. It will not stay straight. You have to constantly attempt to pull it back in your lane. I have turned off lane assist and it still does it. Other Honda CRVs are included in a recall for this issue but mine is not. It causes severe driver anxiety and fatigue. Passengers even question my driving but when we trade places they see how frustrating it is. Something is definitely not right. The mechanical failure I am experiencing is the same as the 2023-2025 recall. I called the Honda dealership where I bought my vehicle and other Honda dealerships and they confirmed my vehicle is not currently included in the recall.

While driving on a straight, flat road with no other vehicles close in the front or to my rear the brakes came on without warning. I pulled over to the side of the road because it was really scary. Once I calmed down I continued driving without further incident. When I got to my grandsons school parking lot I called the Honda dealership that I purchased the car from and asked the service person if they had any issues like this. She stated that "the phantom breaking happened at times" and that it "was not a big deal". After looking on line one suggestion was to clean around the sensor in the Honda emblem and the windshield around the rear view mirror. I've owned the car since 2019 (original owner) and have 72K miles on the vehicle. The only recent problem was I had to replace the original battery on 05/31/26 which was done by a AAA representative. I've had no other issues to date, but this breaking issue if it persists seems like it could be very dangerous.

I'm concern with the possible safety issue while driving my 2019 CRV on the expressway at 60 mph. The steering has a sticking moment when trying to adjust the wheel back to straight alignment. I'm not sure if this is going to continue or can this get more serious. in my research, I noticed that there is a recall for this issue on other year models but not 2019. I find that interesting. Shouldn't Honda be responsible for this safety issue on all CRVs. Are other 2019 CRV owners having this issue. I'm taking my CRV into the dealer on Thursday 6/18 to address this issue.

Vehicle (31,000 miles) exhibits sticky steering or notchy steering near the straight-ahead position. At highway speeds, the steering wheel resists small steering corrections and then breaks free, causing overcorrection. The condition requires constant micro-corrections to maintain lane position. I first noticed the problem around 10,000 miles. I turned off the LKAS system off. It appears to be getting worse. I called the Honda of Ft Myers dealer service dept (Adrian) and he informed there was a recall on this issue in later models that did not include my year. His only advice was to bring it in. Tires are new, properly inflated, and vehicle has recently been aligned. The symptom appears to originate within the electric power steering system. Vehicle is available for inspection. Safety will be at risk if issue continues to worsen. No warning lamps. Thank You

Since the first day of owing this 2019 CR V, the steering wheel did not smoothly turn. It would turn in small increments, somewhat jerking. As the years have gone by, the situation is worsened. I am afraid we will be in an accident along the highway. Today, I decided to check on what might be the cause, thinking something simple such as hydraulic fluid. Oh my gosh! I found 122 NHTSA complaints of exactly the same problem. And not only that! This EXACT situation was the subject of a recall of earlier versions of the same model. This is not my first rodeo with this specific car. Honda AND NHTSA should both be concerned about the safefy of its customers. Brake systems and steering systems ought to top the list for recall considerations. What is the correct number of complaints to cause a recall? How many of those affected actually file a complaint? I suspect a very small number. Do people have to first be in an accident or be killed as a result of the problems identified by both the customers and their mechanics and dealerships?

I have had a continuous problem with the steering wheel intermittently stiffen and bind. I brought this to the attention of the service manager, Tony Rocha at Ed Morse Honda. He agreed that there was a problem with the Powering Steering Rack (Gear Box) and that this has been an ongoing problem with the CR-V. However, at this time there is not a recall on the 2019, just on the newer CR-V's. I contacted Honda and their response was to offer me $1,000 off of the $5,677.51 needed repair to correct the issue that they have been aware of for years. The vehicle is not safe to drive with a defective steering gearbox. This problem has been going on for well over a year on my CR-V. I have always had my vehicle serviced and maintained at Ed Morse Honda. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. There were no warning messages - just difficulty steering, increasing the risk of crash or injury.
