BLUE RIBBON METALLIC PAINT, FAILING IN ALL DOOR JAMS. CLEAR COAT FAILING IN CERTAIN SPOTS. IN ALL JAMS CLEAR AND BASE COAT IS FLAKING OFF DOWN TO THE PRIMER. NO SAFETY AT RISK. PROBLEM CONFIRMED BY DEALER, IT IS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION UPON REQUEST
Have replaced every part in the fuel system. Pumps, modules, etc. and it continues to have issues. Now a fuel smell issue. These cars have constant issues and need a full recall. Still has issues and have had multiple times it stopped running due to the fuel system issues. Attached is most recent receipt
Was living in South Carolina at the time, but now live in West Virginia. Airbag light came on and Horn stopped working. Has not worked since and received a recall in the mail, but they are saying my vehicle is not on the list. Has not been repaired, but still in-operative.
The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that the horn failed to sound while pressing the horn pad in the center of the steering wheel. The horn only sounded while activated with the key fob. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a defective clock spring in the steering wheel, causing the horn and air bag to malfunction. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 154,000.
Soft pedal when braking goes nearly to floor before engaging. Repairs attempted flushing brakes, new brake fluid and new master cylinder at dealer still not fixed. Toyota wants to replace ABS actuator but cannot guarantee it will fix the problem. Many instances of this on Toyota and no solutions. Toyota is ignoring the problem.
Front Rotors purchased on Amazon warped in under 5,000 miles/3 months of normal highway and city driving conditions. Issue caused high vibrations in front end when braking from 40+ mph. Paired with new Wagner OEX pads when installed. Manufacturer’s Warranty period was 24,000 miles/2 years. Rear rotors also warped about 1,000 miles after front rotors did. Front rotors were turned/resurfaced at about 3,000 miles and warped again within 1,000 miles. Replaced with Raybestos high carbon steel rotors and ceramic pads and no issues since replacement (over a year). Wagner did not offer replacement equipment under warranty and Amazon offered only partial refund after return and restocking fees.
The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed and attempting to accelerate, the contact became aware that the vehicle was not shifting above 2nd gear, prompting the contact to discontinue driving the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed failures with shift solenoid C, and pressure control solenoid D. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be rebuilt. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 168,000.
Tire size275/55/R20 Back Country AT2 had complete sidewall detachment while going 75 on free-way. Tires appeared to be in good condition prior to incident. There were no potholes or road conditions that contributed to incident. This nearly resulted in a freeway speed rollover.
Manufacture is aware that there is a massive issue with the timing cover sealant that is being used for vehicles. Not only is the robot that applies the sealant for the timing cover and results in oil leaks for the owner the dealerships are aware that is an massive issue and wants owners to pay for removal of the engine to reapply update sealant to stop oil from leaking that comes from the timing cover. This results is oil being leaked onto public roadways , property but also results in massive cost for owners to address in order to stop the leaks from occurring that could result in engine damage and failure of timing components.
At irregular intervals and at the most random of times my headlights will cut out (including dash lights & radio). It happened this morning driving to the airport but it has been months since it last happened. The road was smooth with no bumps that I recall. This has happened to me in the past while stopped at a stop sign as well.
Vehicle has a leaking steering rack seal that when leaking does not give a warning. Vehicle loses power steering. Needs to be replenished regularly. Started out small, and was unaware of the issue. Started topping off the power steering fluid at around 24k miles (under warranty). A clunk in the suspension was diagnosed as a bad shock (bad diagnosis). Took it in to have the rack looked at by Toyota, but they will not remedy this issue, even though there are hundreds of people on the Internet with the same problem. I've never heard of a steering rack going bad before 100k miles, let alone before 30k.
When using the turn signal to indicate turning direction at night, all lights shut off randomly, leaving you with no way to see where you're going. This includes all cabin lights so you can't find the switch to turn the lights back on. This happen regularly. This has been detailed here: https://www.tundras.com/threads/auto-headlights-shut-off-with-turn-signal.22968 It seems Toyota knows about this problem already, as well as the fix for it, but won't voluntarily recall the vehicles to address it.
Truck shuts down after running for about 2 minutes; As if the ignition switch was turned off while driving. I then have to wait about 30 seconds to restart the truck. The truck will not start immediately after shutting off. It acts like something has to reset to allow the truck to start. The truck will do the same thing idling in my driveway. It starts right up; Runs about 2 minutes and shuts off. After 30 seconds the truck will restart. This is a danger on the highway. I do not have remote start.
GEAR SHIFTER HANGS UP IN PARK, TOYOTA WANTED $1,000.00 TO REPLACE TOTAL GEAR-SHIFTER THEY SAID IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM.
THE BOLT FOR THE WIPER BLADE ON THE DRIVER SIDE LOOSENS UP MAKING THE WIPER INOPERABLE AND BAD WEATHER CONDITIONS.
MULTIPLE RECALLS ISSUED FOR TOYOTA FUEL PUMP BUT NOT THIS YEAR. VEHICLE QUIT WHILE DRIVING, WOULD NOT START, TERRIBLE GAS MILEAGE, AND ROUGH RUNNING. DEALER RAN DIAGNOSTICS AND SAID IT WAS A DEFECTIVE FUEL PUMP (JUST LIKE ALL PREVIOUS MODELS) AND REPLACED IT WITH THE REPLACEMENT USED IN THE OTHER RECALLS.
WHEN AT 55 DEGREES OR BELOW GETTING A MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 2, ENGINE LIGHT ON WITH TRACTION CONTROL OFF ON MY DISPLAY (NOT THE ACTUAL ICON). CODE READER SAYS P0302, C1201, AND B1242. ENGINE LIGHT STARTING FLASHING, JUDDERING REALLY BAD WHEN ACCELERATING TO 70MPH. WHEN AT 60 DEGREES OR HIGHER EVERYTHING IS NORMAL NO ENGINE LIGHT ON OR ANY JUDDERING.
FROM WHAT I CAN TELL FROM 2007 ONWARD TOYODA HAS HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE SECONDARY AIR ARE THE AIP PUMPS , THERE MIXING WATER AND GAS IN TO THE CONTAINER PUMPS WHICH IS CAUSING FAULTY PUMPS IN GOING OUT . BEING THAT THIS IS PART OF THE EMISSIONS IT HAS SAFETY HAZARDS TO COME WITH IT SOMEONE NEEDS TO CHECK THIS OUT.
HARD STARTING ISSUE ON COLD START DUE TO FUEL PUMP/ECU FLEX FUEL ISSUE FFV ENGINE 3UR-FBE. DATA SHOWS READING FUEL ALCOHOL CONTENT @ 56% EVEN THOUGH I'VE NEVER RUN ETHANOL... THIS IS COMMON PROBLEM ID ON MANY TUNDRA THREADS ONLINE. IN ADDITION TO INCREASED ENGINE WEAR ON STARTS, FUEL ECONOMY IS REDUCED BECAUSE ENGINE IS MAPPED TO ETHANOL BASED FUEL INSTEAD OF STANDARD GASOLINE FUEL MAPPING.
WIPER MECHANICAL COMPONENTS UNDER THE HOOD BROKE LOOSE FROM WIPER TRANSMISSION ON DRIVERS SIDE DURING HEAVY RAIN/SLEET/SNOW WITHOUT WARNING. PASSENGER SIDE STILL WORKED. RESEARCH INDICATES YEARS 2015-2018 NON LUBRICATED, NON REPAIRABLE PLASTIC COMPONENTS USED IN MECHANICAL ARMS WEAR QUICKLY. RUST BECAUSE COMPONENTS NOT PROTECTED FROM WEATHER AS PRECIOUSLY BUILT. WOULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT ON TWO LANE ROAD IF NOT FOR PASSENGER TO GUIDE TO SAFE STOP. THIS OCCURRED ON TWO LANE HIGHWAY DRIVING HIGHWAY SPEED WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE COMPLETE WIPER COMPONENTS NEED TO BE SAFETY RECALLED AND REPLACED WITH REDESIGNED COMPONENTS ON ALL TOYOTA MODELS AFFECTED. WIPER LINKAGE - TOYOTA (85150-0C070). NOTE: D NOT HAVE EXACT DATE THIS OCCURRED BECAUSE LEFT SITTING UNTIL WEATHER CLEARED.
